#25 - A Different Kind of Psychology (ft. Raissa Fatikha)

Hello Worthy Lovers, welcome to the Valet Amandum Podcast. In this episode, I talked about my hypothesis that can help solve the problem of unequal access to mental health in Indonesia. There are different kinds of ideas—taboos, controversies, innovation—that are being discussed to tackle the hypothesis itself. Overall, it's a pleasant discussion and ends with a reminder about the long history of understanding the true and tragic knowledge of the human condition.

Omnibus Law: Giving The Devil His Due!

Hello Worthy Lovers, welcome back to Valet Amandum Podcast with your host Yega. In today's episode, we're going to have a conversation about Omnibus Law with my good friend Athar. It is in my deep interest to steel man that bill, and to give credit where credit due. Because I'm beginning to feel a little bit tired from hearing people's comments that only straw man the bill. John Stuart Mill talks about this in his book On Liberty, "He who knows only his own side of the case, knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them. But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side; if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion."

And so there are 3 things that we're gonna talk about. The teleology of this bill, the pros and cons, and the dynamics of the discussion that we have regarding this bill. Athar tells me to give you a disclaimer that at the time of this podcast, he just woke up from his nap. However, let me assure you that the ideas we're going to propose in this episode are far from boring or even gullible.

Perhaps, my only apologies to you guys are about the sound quality. Athar's headset is broken so sometimes you'll hear my sound echoing when I talk, and that's about it. Hope you enjoy this episode!

Draw the Line | The Right Person in a Relationship

In this episode, me and my friend, Kania, explore the idea of "The Right Person in a Relationship". We talked about becoming the right person instead of finding the right one. We talked about the notion of 'The Wrong Person', and despite the fact that it's different for everyone, we can still find commonalities in them.  We also talked about how to determine whether a relationship is a success or a failure from a different angle. Lastly, where do we draw the line in all of those ideas. One thing to note tho, the way we view love is polar opposite. I stand for "Love a person for who they could be", and she stand for "Love a person for who they are". So it's interesting that we can find an agreement in this episode. Hope you enjoy it guys!

Just Chillin' #4 with Nisa: On Love and Love

Hey guys, this is my friend Nisa. She is basically one of those person that can really bring the best version out of me. In this podcast, we talked for a long time. Like a really long time.  So, buckle up. We talked about her trip to Bandung, my introductory questions that includes who she is, and 3 words to describe her self. We also talked about Logic and Emotions; how both of us actually do things logically than most people. We get deep down about loyalty, and how it can affect a friendship. We talked about Mark Manson's book, and how it makes me think about how she view the world. We also talked how I kill my own feelings, and how it affects me on catching my feelings. We also talked about adoring someone, and why sometimes she do the opposite of what I do. We also talked about why she uses the word 'like' more often than 'love'. And to be honest, most of the things we talked about is love. We talked about death and astronomy in the last 30 minutes or so. Then finally, I asked her on what's her definition of a life that is worth loving. Oh wait, Did I mention that she's going to be at the same university as I am? Hope you guys enjoy this episode!
