Uncertain Ruminations
Welcome to listen to the Uncertain Pathfinders (UP) podcast, where we ask listeners and guests to invite Uncertainty and unlock possibility. On this episode, co-hosts Jeffrey Schwab and Miranda Wang have the pleasure to talk and ruminate with Cory Brown. A “Michigan-born Cali boy,” Cory has since relocated to Taiwan in the past year to start a new journey as a community cultivator, college counselor, and curious creative. Cory also organizes meetings for Manifest Taipei, where participants gather to share areas where they are feeling challenged and connect on goals they want to manifest for their future. “Comedian” may be another “C” word in the string of alliteration that Cory identifies with, as he builds upon his previous improv experience in San Diego and continues to explore improv and sketch comedy in the Taipei community.
On this episode Cory shares more about his path and how a side-trip while visiting Korea inspired him to make the jump to Taiwan life. Learn more about his story as he continues to make efforts to become more integrated with the Taiwan community. A longtime supporter of UP’s “Books and Brews” book club, Cory is a deep thinker who cherishes and sees value in building lasting connections within the communities he is a part of.

(Uncertain Ruminations)

📍Note: For this episode we are trying something VERY Uncertain in that it is an extremely bilingual episode, with much of the first portion in English, and then switches over to Mandarin Chinese.
🌏 When we travel, we are almost sure to encounter Uncertainty. Some would even say part of the lure of travel is to meet Uncertainty face to face, to go to places we have never been to before, try new experiences, meet new people, see unfamiliar sites, and of course, taste dishes that we’ve never tried.
👣Who better to talk about travel and the Uncertainty that it brings than professionals from the travel industry? Today our co-hosts, Jeffrey Schwab and Miranda Wang, welcome CEO and Founder of Topology Travel, Peter Lin, and Tour Consultant, Chloe Kung, into the studio.
🎙️Both share stories of Uncertainty from their years of life and travel experience, as well as what it means to face Uncertainty when leading a group of travelers. They share stories of unexpected rogue typhoons, plan B travel execution, sweet potato vendor fights, the impact of Covid on the travel industry, and some exciting new travel experience offerings from Topology.
🧳Founded in 2011, Topology Travel promises visitors to the island to explore the “real” Taiwan. The team at Topology shares a passion for bringing authentic experiences to their clients, and they make efforts to customize tours to help create immersive stories and life experiences.

✨In addition to podcasts, Uncertain Pathfinders provides 1-1 and team career or life coaching, interactive team workshops that utilize applied improv to build rapport and understanding, as well as workshops that focus on Nonviolent Communication (NVC) facilitation. Please reach out for questions or collaboration.
Leave a comment and share your thoughts: https://open.firstory.me/user/cm81rx1oo07d7012vcyv33asu/comments

Welcome to our 3rd episode of the Uncertain Pathfinders, or the UP podcast. This is the podcast where we ask YOU to share your stories of Uncertainty as we unlock possibilities together. On this episode, our cohosts, Jeffrey Schwab and Miranda Wang are joined by Jasmine Ow, 胡鉫敏. Please read below for her introduction:
Originally from Malaysia, Jasmine moved to Taiwan at 19 to study Industrial Design at National Cheng Kung University. Before making that decision, she had a strong passion for dance and dreamed of pursuing it professionally. However, her family encouraged me to choose a more "practical" path. Despite that, her love for dance remains a significant part of her life.
During her studies, she realized she was more passionate about the artistic, experiential side of design than the technical aspects of product creation. This curiosity led her to explore XR technologies in her final year, where she combined her passions for dance and design to create her first project: Your Body is an Ocean. The interactive installation received encouraging feedback at Bangkok Design Week, affirming her belief in the power of blending technology and body movement.
That experience sparked a desire to address how people, especially in urban environments, often lose connection with their bodies. To tackle this, she founded SonicStride — a platform designed to help people reconnect with themselves through movement and music. You can check it out here: SonicStride. While the past 1.5 years have been filled with challenges and Uncertainty, her determination to encourage people to move their bodies remains unwavering.
Jasmine is also the logo designer for Uncertain Pathfinders! During the episode, she, Miranda, and Jeffrey discuss journeys with Uncertainty, what it means to balance entrepreneurship with our core values, and there's even a bit of Chinese poetry recited! 江雪 is the poem, written in the Tang Dynasty 唐代 by Liu Zongyuan 柳宗元。
Please feel free to reach out to Uncertain Pathfinders at uncertainpathinders@gmail.com to share your stories of Uncertainty on the show. Uncertain Pathfinders was founded by Jeffrey Schwab, and he provides life coaching services with a focus on Uncertainty, applied improv workshops for building team dynamics and communication, as well as facilitating Non Violent Communication workshops. Miranda Wang focuses on meaningfu language immersion programs. They are both located in Taipei, Taiwan and happy to connect!

Welcome to listen to the first episode of the Uncertain Pathfinders or UP podcast. This podcast asks listeners and guests to do three things:
Join our two hosts Jeffrey and Miranda as they dive into the realm of Uncertainty with positive and experimental mindsets. Longtime friends in Taiwan, Jeffrey and Miranda are both co-founders of Taiwan's first fully bilingual (Chinese and Mandarin) improv performance group, Formosa Improv Group (FIG) Due to their comfort with bilingualism, some of these episodes may be mostly English, mostly Chinese, or a mixture of both--it's all really up to Uncertainty.
Jeffrey is the Founder and Chief Possibility Officer 願景長 of Uncertain Pathfinders. Jeffrey left his previous position as Chief Learning Officer (CLO) to focus more on life coaching, applied improv facilitation, and Non Violent Communication (NVC) for constructive conflict. Miranda is a full time mother, as well as promoter and part-timer for Taiwan's Polyglot Community or Multilingual Cafe.
In this episode, these two hosts set the stage for the show as they introduce what Uncertainty means to them. Following the introduction, they both connect novelty and a "beginner's mindset" with Uncertainty and each share one experience they have with Uncertainty from their own pasts. In the end, we look to the future, and what opportunities we can see that Uncertainty brings us down the road. Looking forward to embracing Uncertainty together!
