One thing that I do when I connect with my kids is to check in with them on their day. How school has been, how life has been, what's going on in their world. I am not trying to pry or find things out. I just want to connect with their heart.

And I don't about you but often I used to get this amazing answer-back. I get this (blank stare) … "uh, fine"
