🌱 What if the answer has been inside the seed all along?
Doug Evans didn’t set out to become a health pioneer.
He was just a New York City kid, scrappy, sleeping on subways, surviving. But life had other plans.
At 33, Doug watched chronic illness sweep through his entire family. Diabetes. Heart disease. Cancer.
It wasn’t genetics. It was the food.
That wake-up call launched Doug on a mission, a return to nature’s simplest, most intelligent food form: sprouts.
Not the garnish on your sandwich. The real deal. Living, bioavailable, enzyme-rich medicine you can grow in a jar on your kitchen counter.
No soil. No sun. Just water, time, and a little faith.
💡 What You’ll Discover in This Episode:
The wild power hidden in a seed (some can sprout after 1,200 years!)
Why sprouts contain 20–100x more nutrients than mature vegetables
How a global bestseller (The Sprout Book) helped awaken a movement
Why most of us are treating symptoms—not causes—and how to shift that
The shocking contrast between 1-ingredient sprouts and 20-ingredient cereals
Why kids in Brazil, Mexico, and Ecuador are embracing food sovereignty
How sprouts are more than a food—they’re a pathway to freedom
What the future of health could look like when local, intuitive food wisdom returns
💬 A Moment That Might Shift You:
“Most people wait until a health scare to change. But what if you didn’t have to wait for pain to make the shift?”
— Doug Evans
🔁 From the Streets to the Soil
In this deeply human conversation, Doug opens up to Eric about how his own evolution—from surviving the streets to thriving as a wellness visionary—has been guided by something humble and ancient: the sprout.
It’s not just about nutrition.
It’s about agency.
Simplicity.
And the sovereignty we each reclaim when we grow even a little bit of our own food.
🚀 Ready to start your own health revolution?
Your next step is simple:

Get Doug’s book, explore organic seeds, and start your own countertop garden.
It’s not just what you eat—it’s how alive it is when you eat it.
🎧 Listen now. Your future self is already thanking you.
What if the very stress, struggle, or tension you feel at work… wasn’t something to escape instead it was something that could heal you?
In this powerful conversation, Eric Balance sits down with Susan Winchester, author, speaker, and emotionally intelligent leader who discovered that the workplace is one of the most profound classrooms for personal transformation.
Susan didn’t start her career with this wisdom. Like so many high performers, she built her early success on unconscious patterns rooted in childhood wounds, perfectionism, people-pleasing, a deep hunger for external validation. On the outside, she was thriving. And inside, something was always missing.
Everything changed when a mentor entered her life. Through his guidance and a series of deeply vulnerable experiences, Susan began to see clearly: she had been performing for approval, not leading from authenticity.
That awakening sparked her mission: to help professionals recognize their emotional patterns, break free from trauma responses like fight, flight, freeze, or fawn, and begin leading from a place of truth.
Together, Eric and Susan explore:
How childhood experiences silently shape our careers and relationships
Why workplace conflict can be a gift when seen through a healing lens
What it means to be a conscious leader in a world still driven by unconscious behaviors
And how her book Healing at Work teaches a 3-step framework to turn professional pain into personal power
This isn’t just a conversation about business or success, it’s about owning your story, reclaiming your voice, and understanding that you are not broken… you’re becoming.
🔥 This episode is for you if:✨
Whether you're a coach, entrepreneur, executive, or a soul on a mission, this episode will remind you that your path is sacred, your patterns can be rewritten, and healing is not a detour… it’s the way home.
You feel like you’re working hard but still not “enough”
You’ve outgrown hustle culture and crave deeper alignment
You’re curious how emotional intelligence and self-awareness can elevate your leadership
You're ready to see your workplace struggles as sacred teachers, not personal failures
Susan reminds us:📚
“We’re not here to perform. We’re here to transform.” “Awareness is the first act of leadership, especially the awareness of ourselves.” “Healing at work begins when we choose presence over patterns.”

Because resilience isn’t about being strong all the time. It’s about being whole.
What if we could rewrite the story of extinction, not just to bring species back, but to remind humanity of its sacred responsibility to the Earth?
In this episode, Eric Balance sits down with Ben Lamm, the visionary behind Colossal, a company on a mission to restore biodiversity through groundbreaking technologies like de-extinction. But this is more than a story of science, it's a calling to shift the way we live, lead, and serve.
Ben opens up about the moment of awakening that led him to this mission, a conversation with geneticist George Church that ignited a deeper purpose. Rather than just chasing technological advancement, Ben chose to channel innovation into something more meaningful: healing the planet through collective action.
What unfolds is a raw and inspiring look into the inner work of leadership, where listening to critics becomes a superpower, and connection with indigenous wisdom becomes a guiding light. Ben doesn’t just talk about changing the world, he shares how he’s embodying it, one conscious decision at a time.
From traveling to sacred lands in Australia to honor indigenous connections to the Tasmanian Tiger, to navigating the moral complexity of AI and energy transitions, Ben reveals what it means to lead with integrity, empathy, and unwavering vision.
This isn’t about being the hero, it’s about building a movement where everyone’s genius matters. It’s about staying awake, even when the world wants you to fall asleep. And it’s about remembering that true innovation always serves life.
Awaken to your greater mission beyond business and success
Embrace feedback as fuel for evolution
Reclaim the power of community and collaboration
Lead with empathy in the face of resistance
Rethink innovation as a tool for regeneration, not just disruption
Ben’s journey is a mirror, a reminder that our boldest ideas are often the most misunderstood, and that walking the edge of what’s possible requires a deep relationship with purpose.
If you’re building something that feels ahead of its time…If you’re questioning how to bring spirit into strategy…If you’re ready to ignite your leadership from the inside out…
This conversation is for you.

Sean Clayton's life had always been driven by ambition. From his early days in marketing and political involvement in Austin, Texas, he thrived in a world of strategy and influence. Yet, deep within him, there was a pull—a whisper of something greater, something unseen. That pull led him down a path of self-discovery, one that would forever alter his understanding of life, energy, and the universe.
One day, after years of navigating the external world, Sean found himself drawn to the teachings of Dr. Joe Dispenza. What began as curiosity quickly turned into a transformative journey. Attending multiple retreats, he experienced an awakening that shattered his previous understanding of reality. Through meditation, he healed physical ailments, uncovered layers of trauma, and discovered the power of true abundance. But the journey didn't stop there.
Venturing deeper, Sean explored plant medicine—ayahuasca, iboga—sacred tools that unlocked realms beyond the physical. He began to see the interconnectedness of all things, the dance of masculine and feminine energy, and the role of receivership in personal evolution. Ancient wisdom from the Kabbalah and other spiritual texts resonated with him, filling in gaps where logic once dominated.
As Sean’s awareness expanded, he encountered the profound concepts of the nine dimensions of creation and the seven hermetic principles. These teachings illuminated the patterns of existence, offering a blueprint for self-discovery and universal alignment. Love, he realized, was not just an emotion but a frequency—an internal harmony that aligned one’s spirit with the cosmos.
Colors, once mundane, took on new significance. Sean noticed their presence in everyday life, understanding them as energy signatures that reflected emotions, growth, and balance. He studied the connection between colors and chakras, learning how they influence our perception and well-being. Every shade, every hue told a story, a guidepost for those who chose to see beyond the surface.
But there was more. Diving into the depths of human DNA, Sean questioned the randomness of creation. Could it be that our genetic blueprint held hidden intelligence, a consciousness waiting to be unlocked? He saw how generational trauma imprinted itself on the body, manifesting as illness or emotional distress. Through conscious awareness and healing, he believed, these cycles could be broken, revealing untapped potential within every individual.
Patterns emerged everywhere. Signs, symbols, and synchronicities became Sean’s language with the universe. He realized that life was a constant conversation, an unfolding story that, when observed with intention, could reveal the deepest truths. This understanding deepened his connection to the collective consciousness, reinforcing the idea that we are all intricately woven into the fabric of existence.
As he reflected on his journey, Sean saw the power of curiosity—the way it kept the mind open, the heart willing. He embraced imagination as a tool for creation, gratitude as a portal to the present moment. Through these practices, he found peace in the now, no longer chasing the future or regretting the past. Instead, he lived fully, embracing the mystery of existence with wonder and reverence.
Sean Clayton’s story is a testament to the boundless potential of the human spirit. His journey reminds us that the answers we seek are already within, waiting to be uncovered.

In this powerful episode of Resilient Minds, we step into the world of Siri Lindley—a woman who has faced life’s most difficult storms and emerged stronger than ever. A two-time world champion triathlete, renowned coach, and keynote speaker, Siri has spent her life pushing boundaries. And her greatest test came not on the racecourse, but in a doctors office, where she was given less than a 5% chance of survival.
Her story isn’t just about winning races—it’s about winning in life.
Siri wasn’t always the confident, inspiring leader she is today. In her early years, she struggled with anxiety and self-doubt, questioning her worth and searching for a sense of belonging. It was through the sport of triathlon that she found herself, and even then, she had to learn the power of presence and self-acceptance.
Then, in 2019, life threw her the ultimate challenge: a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia. The odds were terrifying. A bone marrow transplant in 2020 became her only hope. Rather than succumbing to fear, Siri chose to go all in—not just on surviving, but on living fully.
Now, approaching her five-year cancer-free anniversary, she reflects on that battle as a moment of transformation. It reinforced what she had always believed: adversity isn’t meant to break you—it’s meant to build you.
Siri doesn’t just talk about resilience; she lives it. Through her experiences, she developed her Five Principles of a Champion Mind, a mindset that helped her push past limits—both physical and emotional:
1️⃣ Own Your Energy – Focus on what you have, not what you lack.
2️⃣ Be Authentic – Decide who you are and live in alignment with that truth.
3️⃣ Be Intentional – Set clear goals and take purposeful action.
4️⃣ Be Present – Deepen connections and live fully in each moment.
5️⃣ Be Grateful – Appreciate the journey, even in the face of hardship.
These principles didn’t just help her survive cancer—they shaped how she approaches every opportunity in life.
Today, Siri pours her energy into empowering others. She runs Believe Ranch and Rescue, where she has saved over 320 horses from slaughter. She’s also sharing her journey through her upcoming book, Finding a Way, with a foreword by Tony Robbins, and her new documentary, Try Me, the Siri Lindley Story.
Her mission? To show others that no matter how impossible the odds may seem, there is always a way forward.
Siri’s story isn’t just hers—it’s an invitation for all of us to step into our own power. She encourages listeners to:
✅ Watch Try Me, the Siri Lindley Story to witness her journey firsthand.
✅ Attend a Tony Robbins event and experience her energy live.
✅ Read Finding a Way for tools and inspiration to transform challenges into triumphs.
Through this episode, Siri reminds us that resilience isn’t about avoiding struggles—it’s about embracing them, learning from them, and rising because of them.
Her story is proof that even in our darkest moments, we can find a way forward.
Thank you for your strength, power, and courage.

With a career dedicated to chronic pain and healthy living, Brian shares his philosophy of investing in your future self. The conversation begins with a powerful question: What if you’re not broken but simply out of alignment? Brian encourages us to reframe our struggles as opportunities for growth. He explains how showing up for yourself—and for others—can unlock the resilience needed to thrive.

In this episode of the podcast, I interview Dave Dodson, the author of The Manager's Handbook, who shares his journey from rural Colorado to Stanford University, where he now teaches a popular course on tactical execution. Dave opens up about how his book evolved from a collection of practical advice into a comprehensive guide designed to make managerial wisdom accessible, especially for community college programs.
His aim is to help people learn five core management skills: building a team, seeking advice, setting priorities, time management, and maintaining quality.
Dave emphasizes that these skills are not innate traits but can be learned and honed through practice. He explains how the book is structured to be a quick, actionable resource for managers, with each section offering practical strategies that can be implemented right away. The goal is for readers to be able to use the book as a reference—something they can return to as they progress in their managerial careers.
The conversation shifts to the importance of effective meeting management. Dave stresses how crucial it is to have clear objectives for meetings, structure them for engagement, and follow up with concrete action items afterward. He also highlights a unique approach to meetings, suggesting that reversing the usual order of seniority can help create more inclusive and dynamic discussions, where even the most junior team members are encouraged to contribute ideas.
As the discussion continues, Dave reflects on his leadership philosophy, which is centered around compassionate, participatory management. He notes that while technology and work environments continue to evolve—especially with the rise of remote work—the core principles of good leadership remain constant. The human side of management, he says, is what truly makes a difference in creating a positive organizational culture.
The interview wraps up with Dave sharing the positive feedback he's received from readers, many of whom have found the book’s practical approach helpful in their own management roles. He's also working on developing additional materials—perhaps videos or supplementary content—to help readers better implement the principles he teaches. His goal is to ensure that the book's impact extends beyond just reading; he wants to help organizations create lasting, positive change.
Finally, Dave offers a personal reflection on the role of family in his life and how his values have shaped his approach to leadership. He encourages listeners to share their own experiences, engage with him on LinkedIn, and use the book as a tool to improve their management skills.
Thank you for your time and wisdom Dave

In this powerful episode, we sit down with Felix Brooks-Church, the co-founder and CEO of Sanku, an innovative organization dedicated to combating malnutrition and fighting hidden hunger in East Africa. With a mission to make nutrition a basic human right, Sanku is working at the intersection of food security, sustainability, and social impact to transform lives across some of the world’s most underserved communities.
Felix takes us through an inspiring journey of how Sanku is tackling the global challenge of malnutrition—one that persists despite the availability of sufficient food. Often, people are full but still undernourished, a phenomenon known as “hidden hunger,” which affects millions, especially children and women of reproductive age. This form of malnutrition is more than just a lack of calories—it’s a lack of vital nutrients that are essential for healthy growth and development.
As Felix unpacks Sanku’s mission to fortify staple foods, like flour, maize, and rice, we learn how this simple yet groundbreaking approach is making nutritious options more accessible, affordable, and scalable in communities where the impact of malnutrition is most severe.
But the road to lasting change is never without its challenges. Scaling operations in low-resource settings, navigating logistical hurdles, and shifting local behaviors are just some of the obstacles Felix and his team face daily. Yet, it is within these challenges that true resilience is forged. Sanku’s innovative solution—a portable, local flour fortification machine—is transforming small mills in remote communities, enabling the production of nutrient-rich flour for millions of people. This localized approach builds resilience by reducing reliance on external resources and empowering local communities to take charge of their own nutritional needs.
Felix shares his vision for Sanku’s future as the organization plans to expand into Ethiopia, where they aim to reach 40 million people. With a focus on sustainability, Sanku is working toward a future where their impact is self-sustaining, with reduced reliance on donations and increased local involvement in the food fortification process.
Throughout the conversation, Felix also emphasizes the critical role of mothers in ensuring their children receive the proper nutrition. Empowering women to take charge of their families' health is key to combating malnutrition effectively. But as Felix points out, true transformation requires more than just nutrition—it requires community engagement, trust-building, and local leadership.
In this episode, you’ll learn how small, thoughtful actions—from food fortification to community engagement—can create ripple effects of change that drive sustainable, long-term impact. Felix’s call to action is clear: by supporting organizations like Sanku, we all have a role in building a more resilient, healthier world. Whether through donations, spreading awareness, or simply sharing the message, you can help foster lasting change that impacts both individuals and communities in profound ways.

In this episode, host Eric sits down with Lisa Hough, one of the leading advocates for Bitcoin and a recognized thought leader in the intersection of energy and Bitcoin. Recently named by Forbes as one of Bitcoin’s most influential voices, Lisa has spent her career building bridges between the Bitcoin community and energy companies. Her unique perspective has made her a key player in demonstrating the economic potential of Bitcoin mining, not only as a financial tool but as a solution to some of the world’s biggest energy challenges.
The conversation kicks off with Lisa sharing her personal story of how she discovered Bitcoin. Having re-entered the workforce after a career break, Lisa was drawn to Bitcoin as a means to secure her financial independence. She explains how she quickly realized that Bitcoin wasn't just a digital currency; it was a universal language of economic freedom, capable of uniting people across the globe. This realization sparked a passion to introduce others to Bitcoin, especially through the lens of energy, where it has the power to create real-world solutions.
Lisa’s journey into Bitcoin brought her into close contact with the energy sector, and that’s where her expertise truly shines. Living in Houston, the heart of America’s energy industry, Lisa began consulting with energy companies on how Bitcoin mining could help monetize excess energy resources. She explains how Bitcoin mining is uniquely positioned to help energy companies tap into wasted or surplus energy, turning it into a profitable asset.
The potential of Bitcoin mining, Lisa notes, goes beyond just creating wealth for individual miners—it can bring massive economic benefits to entire industries. By partnering with power generation companies, Lisa has seen firsthand how Bitcoin can be integrated into existing energy infrastructure, offering a sustainable way to harness energy that would otherwise go to waste.
One of the most intriguing points in their conversation is how Bitcoin mining acts as a "scavenger" of energy, utilizing energy that is otherwise wasted. Lisa compares traditional energy projects with Bitcoin mining infrastructure, noting that Bitcoin miners are not just consumers of power—they are coordinators of capital, helping to finance energy infrastructure projects and making use of energy that would otherwise be discarded.
In Lisa’s view, Bitcoin mining could help foster a future of energy abundance, where surplus resources are put to productive use rather than wasted. This vision aligns with a broader goal of creating economic prosperity, not just for Bitcoin miners, but for entire industries and communities that could benefit from a more efficient and sustainable energy system.
Eric then shifts the conversation to his own collaborative project, which blends waste stream capture with Bitcoin mining. Coming from a background in oil fields and finance, Eric sees Bitcoin mining as an innovative way to capture waste energy, like flared gas, and convert it into a profitable asset. He shares how his project combines heat generation, power production, and Bitcoin mining to unlock value from energy that would otherwise be lost.
This project has the potential to revolutionize how energy companies think about waste and resource utilization. Eric and Lisa discuss how this approach can be scaled, and how private equity, energy companies, and Bitcoin miners can work together to create a more sustainable and profitable energy ecosystem. Eric even extends an invitation to Lisa to become an advisor on the project, recognizing her invaluable expertise in both the Bitcoin and energy sectors.

In the world of personal development and community well-being, few voices resonated as profoundly as Kerwin Rae's. In a recent episode of the Resilient Minds podcast, host Eric had the honor of engaging with Kerwin, weeks before his passing. Their conversation explored the depths of personal growth, the intricacies of community dynamics, and the challenges of modern economics, all woven together by Kerwin’s unwavering belief in the power of purpose.

His approach encouraged a practice of non-judgmental observation, a vital tool for anyone seeking genuine growth.
As the conversation deepened, Kerwin tackled the pressing issue of toxic masculinity.
