38. Short Clip #3. Hypnosis with Sheri - What Is Your Morning Ritual?

In this intimate pre-hypnosis session, I sit down with Sheri Fitzner, not just as a podcast guest, but as a collaborator in something bigger. Together, we’re exploring what it means to truly blend mind, body, spirit, past, present, future—and the conscious with the subconscious.

This isn’t just healing work. It’s leadership work. It’s part of my journey to redefine leadership one story at a time—to tear down the walls of the “executive’s lounge” and show the world that embodied wisdom and ancestral knowing belong at the leadership table.

As Sheri gently guides me into the sacral space—the house of the feminine—she asks the question that lingers long after the session ends: “What do you want to fill that space with?”

This is just a preview of the full episode coming soon—an invitation into radical self-connection, generational healing, and the future of leadership that honors all of who we are.

31. Returning the Knowledge

Dr. Sidney Stone Brown is the author of Transformation Beyond Greed: Native Self-Actualization. She is a revolutionary voice in rethinking Maslow’s hierarchy and has been foundational in my PhD work focusing on the impacts of toxic leadership on women in leadership as well as my work in bring Radical Care to the workplace.

Dr. Stone Brown’s interviews with Blackfoot elders and her psychology expertise aligned to her work with indigenous peoples, introduces readers to Native Self-Actualization and Transformational Actualization as foundational aspects of learning how we view ourselves, others, and community. Her work helps us shift the focus from individual achievement (Maslow's top of the pyramid - Self-Actualization) back to collective actualization and brings Maslow's research back home - returning the knowledge to where it belongs - with the Blackfoot people that originally taught him.

Drawing from the profound wisdom of Blackfoot elders, the book challenges how we view leadership, healing, and purpose—not as individual pursuits but as interconnected journeys rooted in community, transformation, and care.

Together, Dr. Stone Brown and I explore how these ideas can transform modern leadership, community, education, and society as a whole. It was an honor to speak to someone who has been so profoundly impactful in my own leadership journey but also to bring her story to you has been a lifetime moment for me.

*Episode Correction:* the name of the college Dr. Stone Brown references is Red Cloud College - soon to be a university. Dr. Stone Brown and others through the college are working to create an Indigenous Psychology program.

25. You Don't Know What You Don't Know

Kirsten Burkhart has seen her fair share of hardships in her life. What you'll learn about Kirsten in this episode is that she is "bullheaded" and that is a strength that has served her well!

Kirsten is the Executive Director of AIDS Resource and the founder of Amazon Offsets - a non-profit that takes your donations to support Amazon workers in their pay gap and economic instabilities.AIDS Resource is a community-based organization that provides HIV prevention programs, HIV testing, and assistance to those living with or affected by HIV Founded in 1988.

AIDS Resource serves people in 10 counties in north-central Pennsylvania There is still a lot of stigma and misinformation about AIDS and HIV in our country and AIDS Resource is committed to educating, supporting, and sharing resources for those impacted by HIV and AIDS. As more effective treatments have dramatically increased the life expectancy of those living with HIV, the agency’s mission has expanded to include connecting clients with the resources they need to live with HIV.

Kirsten and I both grew up in the 80's when AIDS and HIV were causing massive deaths across the country. News and stories were on TV every day and people dying. Kirsten lost a close friend that forever changed her life plans.

"It was terrifying,” Kirsten said. “The younger generation, they didn't live through any of that. So, they don't really understand the extent to which it was a crisis, because now it really is manageable."

23. Lyrics and Music as a Transcendent Healer for All of Us

B. Elizabeth Beck is a poet who writes fiction. Her fifth collection of poetry, Dancing on the Page, was published by Rabbit House Press this year, 2024. She also has a debut collection of short stories published by Accents publishing this year, too.

For those of you who may have heard of Ms. Beck before or you are a Phish Phan, she’s also the author of the Summer Tour Trilogy, which is how I got to know this amazing woman, initially. She’s layered, inspirational, and what I love most is that she writes AND continues to guide others in learning their own voice through poetry and writing.

Elizabeth is the founder of two poetry series: Teen Howl and Poetry at the /ˈtā-bəl/ in Lexington, Kentucky.

It was so hard to edit our conversation down to a typical podcast episode. Elizabeth has SO MUCH to share and offer. Speaking with her feels like coming home to Aunt Karen's and having a mentor and friend all wrapped up in one.
