Lola Reid Allin is a former Airline Transport Rated Pilot, Class I Flight Instructor, and Flight Examiner, as well as a SCUBA Dive Master, adventurer, and an award-winning author and photographer.
I decided to sit down with Lola after reading her book, Highway to the Sky: An Aviator's Journey.
Lola shares her story in a way that gives us a window into what being a woman with a passion for flying airplanes was like in the 1970's and we learn how she carved a path for herself despite obstacles and challenges along the way.
Lola isn't afraid to talk about the tough stuff and we dive into plenty of it during this episode.
Her courage to follow her dreams and her ability to continue believing in herself earned her a successful career in aviation. Lola is committed to promoting the role of women in aviation and she travels the world encouraging other females to consider aviation careers.
Lola is a speaker with the Northern Lights Aero Foundation & the Eastern Ontario 99s Education & Outreach Committee.
In 2022, she and Robin Hadfield, the International 99s President, created the New Track Scholarship, an annual award for female pilots.
