We know that there has been a 3 month gap in our podcast and we apologize for it. There has been so much that has happened. In this episode, we (high level) give you all an overview of what's been going on with us. After that, we pivot into a really good conversation about what our intentional WORDs are for the year 2021. Such a great conversation and we hope that it's a blessing to you guys! We loved recording it.... wait til you hear Hannah's word for 2021.... oh man. Your heart will melt and be energized!!
Enjoy!
Joel and Hannah
In this episode of the Daddy Daughter Podcast, Joel and Hannah mainly talk about THIS week. This week on Tuesday, we had a national election AND Joel had knee surgery. We are in a season of healing in our home and in our country. Dad and Daughter have an honest conversation steeped in hope, difficulty and God’s faithfulness through it all.
In this episode, Hannah and Joel discuss the power of connection that comes with our own intentionality around recording the podcast and talking TO each other versus talking while the other is in the room. We've experienced a palpable shift in our connectivity when we are in the rhythm of podcasting or SHAREing together.
This season, I'm closing each episode with some "closing thoughts" and in that last portion of the podcast, the hope is to bring some resources to the communication to recap the themes that we felt coming up in the conversation. In this episode, I close with some tools to use while SHAREing with someone that you may not created intentionality with in awhile.
Below are some of those tools:

Hannah and I talk through how impactful therapy has been for her through the pandemic. Hannah also SHAREd vulnerably about how, with everything going on in the world, it's hard to have permission to have a bad day or to struggle, when so many others suffer so much worse. Stay tuned to the end when I give an additional commentary on our talk.
It had been a while since Hannah and I had sat across from each other and talked in THIS format. I'm really glad we are back at it.
Love,
Joel and Hannah
In this episode we talk about how to plant seeds of JOY in your day today. Now, more than ever, we need things that we intentionally sow for us to receive JOY in our tomorrows. We hope you enjoy it... we enjoyed recording it.
Joel + Hannah
In this episode, Hannah and I have a very open and honest and real conversation about Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, what's going on NOW that the news isn't covering the issue of Racial Reconciliation anymore... We talk about what to do now... We talk about the call on our lives to continue to pursue justice and connection with God for ALL.
It may not be in the headlines anymore... but it's not over.
We hope you enjoy this episode, God Bless!!
Joel + Hannah
In this episode, we talk about Hannah's decision to begin talking with a councilor every week. It took us a bit to find someone for her to talk to... but prior to her officially beginning therapy, I wanted to sit down and talk with her. We talk about how we found a therapist, what some preconceived notions about therapy are, and what her expectations are on this journey. It's a great "beginners" podcast, because we are both rookies in this field... and on a new journey together.
Love Always,
Joel & Hannah
As an immediate response to Episode 4, Joel and Hannah further explore what they are missing out in this time, but quickly pivot to begin to explore how to thrive in this new reality. Nothing about this time is normal... but nothing is happening outside of the watchful and protective eyes of God.
In this episode, we stop talking about what we don't have... and refocus on "What We Have".
Hannah named this episode. We weren't feeling it. Tough day, tough season, tough.... everything. WE don't want to fake like it's all good when we are struggling.
But we do want to show up.
We committed to recording every week. This episode was recorded May 7th, 2020.

Tonight's podcast had a more mellow tone... we explore the importance of feeling and being present with our emotions vs. masking them to please others... We also talk Daddy Daughter Dance... and shame and the tightrope that we walk as parents with communication vs planting seeds of worry. We pray that this episode blesses you and yours.
Joel and Hannah
Hannah and Joel talk about everything including Hannah's recent trip to Camp Timber Lee, their Broom Ball tourney, having respectful opinions, the new Students Pastor Andrea, and answered prayers... it's a full episode and our hearts are full from recording it. We pray that it blesses you this morning, afternoon or night. This is one of our favorite episodes yet!
- The Daddy Daughter Podcast
Tonight, we talked excitedly about Hannah’s trip to Camp Timber-Lee with Soul City Students and then we got into an incredible discussion about people’s opinions gossip and how to live in a world where so many people use their opinions to discourage, rather than to encourage.
Enjoy!
Ps. Hannah prays at the end 🙏🏽🥰
In the second part of the conversation "What's It Like To Be On The Other Side Of Me?" Hannah and Joel discuss friendships and callings. We hope you enjoy! We did!
For part 2 of the "What's It Like To Be On the Other Side of Me?" conversation, Hannah and I talk friendship and callings... Enjoy! We did!
In this 2 part series, we have a blast asking each other specific questions pertaining to the big question "What's it like being on the other side of me?" But first, we talk emotionally about the passing of Basketball legend and father Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and the 7 other victims of the helicopter crash in L.A.
