Unknown Facts About Gandhi & Jinnah Ft. Amit Majmudar | The Awaara Musaafir Show | 58

The two prominent figures who played a vital role in India's partition are Mahatma Gandhi and Muhammad Ali Jinnah. This podcast highlights the partition of India from the point of view of these two leaders.

India's partition is one of the world's most controversial topics in the history of freedom movements. The partition of India was an event that resulted in the division of the British Indian Empire into the Union of India and the Dominion of Pakistan. It was a result of the Indian Independence Movement, which aimed the end British rule in the Indian subcontinent. The All-India Muslim League and the Indian National Congress led the movement which was accompanied by civil unrest and sectarian violence across the subcontinent. The partition created the new states of the Dominion of Pakistan (later the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh) and the Union of India (later the Republic of India). The partition involved the division of three provinces, Assam, Bengal, and Punjab, based on district-wide Hindu or Muslim majorities. The boundary demarcating India and Pakistan came to be known as the Radcliffe Line.

The Awaara Musaafir Show
Partition Of India & Pakistan 1947 Ft. Navdeep Suri | Hymns In Blood | The Awaara Musaafir Show | 57

The British left India in August 1947, dividing the subcontinent into two countries: India and Pakistan. The partition sparked massive religious violence, especially in Punjab and Bengal, where Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs were caught in the middle of the chaos. Millions were killed in riots, and millions more were forced to flee their homes. The partition of India stands as one of the most significant events of the 20th century.

1947, Chakri. An idyllic village on the banks of the Soan near Rawalpindi, surrounded by stalks of golden wheat and festive songs. Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs eagerly await the end of winter and get together to prepare for Lohri. Amidst this joyous bustle, Baba Bhana, the erudite village elder, worries about the future of his foster daughter, Naseem. Life comes to a halt when news of a possible partition of India reaches the village. Amid a frenzy of communal violence, Baba Bhana and his family must reluctantly leave their beloved village. They embark on a long and dangerous journey, slowly coming to terms with the fact that their lives may be changing forever. Khoon de Sohile, first published in February 1948, and now translated for the first time into English - Hymns In Blood by Amb. Navdeep Suri provides a timely reminder of the grief and trauma that a religious divide brings in its wake.

He was baptized and initiated Sikhism under the influence of Giani Bagh Singh, the Head Granthi of Peshawar Gurdwara. His name was changed to Nanak Singh. He participated in the Gurdwara Reform movement and went to jail. He read Munshi Prem Chand's novels in jail and found the purpose of his life. He started writing novels to highlight the social evils prevalent in society. His ideal characters would strive to change society with their noble efforts. The impact of his characters on the readers is enormous. The plots of his novels are well-knit and his language of narration is powerful and full of Punjabi idioms and proverbs that readers couldn't leave the novel unfinished. His new novels were anxiously awaited by his keen readers. He reigned a generation of his readers for four decades. He was awarded Sahitya Akademi Award (1961) for his novel Ik Mian Do Talwaran.

The Awaara Musaafir Show
Bangladesh liberation war | December In Dacca Ft. K.S. Nair | The Awaara Musaafir Show | 56

Bangladesh declared its independence on March 26, 1971. The Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 was a decisive win for India. What was the role of the Indian Navy? What was the role of the Indian Army? What was the role of the Indian Air Force? What was the role of Indian Diplomats? Why was Mukti Bahini formed? Five decades later, we bring you the untold stories on The Awaara Musaafir Show!

The 1971 war between India and Pakistan, to help liberate the beleaguered people of Bangladesh, is considered one of the last ‘just wars’ of the twentieth century. Good triumphed decisively, unequivocally, and indisputably. Yet, given the scale of atrocity that was halted in its tracks, it is shocking that the compelling circumstances, as well as numerous poignant and heart-warming stories of the war, have failed to become iconic representations of military intervention and success in the folklore and popular culture of India, Bangladesh and beyond.

December in Dacca published by Harper Collins seeks to right this wrong. From the dramatic dogfight over Boyra to the cornering of Pakistani naval vessels at Karachi to the Indian helicopter-riding infantry and paratroopers forcing the enemy to retreat, the book retells the many thrilling anecdotes, setting them within their diplomatic, strategic, and tactical contexts. It also provides a glimpse into the lives of some of these heroes once the dust had settled. Most importantly, it offers thoughts on why the events of 1971 are not better known, and how a better understanding of those could help India reaffirm her sense of self.

The Awaara Musaafir Show
Dark Secrets Of Pakistani Army Revealed! Ft. Lt. Gen. Kamal Davar | The Awaara Musaafir Show | 54

Ever since its independence in 1947, Pakistan has been running away from its roots—directionless—and has consistently traversed a myopic, self-destructive path. It has been overly obsessed with its more powerful neighbor India, which singularly looms large, albeit illogically, in all its politico-strategic formulations. Constantly whipping up tensions with India has been an existential self-defeating mission for Pakistan and its Deep State. That Pakistan, over the years, has earned the dubious distinction of being the epicenter of global terror, is an outcome directly attributable to its Deep State.

In this episode, Lt. Gen. Kamal Davar talks about Pakistan's Deep State, how it was formed & what is its future!

About Lt. Gen. Kamal Davar - He is a veteran of the 1965 and 1971 operations, and is one of India’s leading military experts. His distinguished career, spanning forty-one years, culminated with his appointment as the founder-director of India’s Defence Intelligence Agency. Post-retirement, he has been writing and lecturing extensively on regional security and strategy and is an active participant in Track 2 diplomacy.

Buy Tryst With The Tribes here - https://amzn.to/3LvLP19

The Tribal economy of India was in a very bad condition. Nature has blessed the tribal people with so many resources, but unfortunately, there was no system to utilize their resources till the time Mr. Pravir Krishna came in as the collector of Sarguja & Bastar. He implemented a unique system that has helped the tribal people to get rid of poverty. He has revolutionized the Tribal Economy of India. This video will give you a detailed insight into the tribal economy and how Mr. Pravir Krishna has changed the fate of the lives of thousands of Tribal People.

Pravir Krishna first came face-to-face with the stark realities of the exploitation of tribal people when he was posted as the collector and district magistrate of Sarguja, a tribal district in Madhya Pradesh, in 1994. It affected him so deeply that he embarked on a journey towards bettering the lives of tribal people. Ever since he has helped create an atmosphere where tribals traded freely and earned more. In fact, his market reforms were listed by the UNO-FAO as among 32 global best practices. Pravir’s close association with the tribes began in Sarguja, it then continued in Bastar, and now as managing director of TRIFED, it has become even more important.

Two decades later, his efforts have culminated in the Pradhan Mantri Jan Jatiya Vikas Mission, an initiative for an enterprise-centric approach to tribal development, vis-à-vis the traditional welfare-centric approach.

History Of The State Bank Of India Ft. Vikrant Pande | The Awaara Musaafir Show | 51

The origin of the State Bank of India goes back to the establishment of the Bank of Calcutta in Calcutta on 2 June 1806. Three years later the bank received its charter and was re-designed as the Bank of Bengal (2 January 1809). It was the first joint-stock bank of British India sponsored by the Government of Bengal. The Bank of Bombay (15 April 1840) and the Bank of Madras (1 July 1843) followed the Bank of Bengal. These three banks remained at the apex of modern banking in India till their amalgamation as the Imperial Bank of India on 27 January 1921.

When India attained freedom, the Imperial Bank had a capital base (including reserves) of INR 11.85 crores, deposits and advances of INR 275.14 crores and INR 72.94 crores respectively, and a network of 172 branches and more than 200 sub-offices extending all over the country. The All India Rural Credit Survey Committee recommended the creation of a state-partnered and state-sponsored bank by taking over the Imperial Bank of India. Thus, an act was passed in Parliament in May 1955 and the State Bank of India was constituted on 1 July 1955.

Later, the State Bank of India (Subsidiary Banks) Act was passed in 1959, enabling the State Bank of India to take over eight former State-associated banks as its subsidiaries (later named Associates).

Sufism - The Religion Of Love Ft. Syed Yusuf Shahab | The Awaara Musaafir Show | S2 | 40

Sufism is a mystical school of thought within Islam that is considered to be very peaceful and tolerant. Sufism is based on the idea that it is possible to gain an intimate knowledge of God. In the Sufi tradition, a teacher is more important than a book, and a personal experience is more important than intellectual understanding. Sufism is based on a word of praise and glorification of God. Sufis believe that there are many ways to reach God indirectly and that the orthodox dogmatism of the Islamic schools prevents Sufi thought from being expressed. In India, Sufism was spread by Muslim saints who came from Persia and Turkey.
