If you have been to Dubai, you cannot miss the impressive and very beautiful building that houses The Museum of the Future. In May this year, it will host a truly innovative event -The Global Prompt Engineering Championship!
Held in the Generative AI categories of Art, Music, and Coding, this, to me, perfectly symbolises the innovation and serious intent UAE is bringing to the AI game.
The UAE has an impressive 2031 Vision Document, world-class open source LLMs like Falcon and Jais, the Mohamed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, and now this! I exepct the UAE to be one of the Top 5 countries in AI, driven by such initiatives.
Earlier this week, I spoke with (radio channel) on this Championship and all the other strides that the UAE is taking in AI. Give it a listen
I was recently awarded the Talent Golden Residency of the UAE and intend to be there much often, to be right in the thick of its AI action!
A couple of days back a friend sent me this amazing article (https://medium.com/@profgalloway/corporate-ozempic-da829480c878) by Prof Scott Galloway, a favourite of mine, called Corporate Ozempic. An article you must read, it talks about how corporates are using AI as the weight-reduction drug Ozempic, to shed people and fat.
Even as I was digesting this article came the announcement from Apple, that they are shedding their Apple Car project and reinvesting the money and resources in AI! And finally, came a shocker of an announcement from Klarna, as to how they have managed to rollout a OpenAI based GenAI Assistant which does the work of 700 humans, and does it better. Frankly, I still have to digest this last piece of news.
But, I definitely have a view on this phenomena, which I share in the video. Love to hear your feedback!
The AI and Generative AI tidal wave seems to be submerging many industries and lapping at the shores of many more. A recent Accenture report singled out Banking as the industry with the highest potential for automation using AI. Other reports are saying something similar. Banking and Financial services seems to be one of the first big battlefronts of man vs. machine; I sit down with Sanat Rao to dissect this. Sanat is the Global CEO of CEO of Infosys Finacle, the leading core banking platform, and therefore watches banking across the world closely. He is also my co-student at the Masters in AI, Ethics, Society at Cambridge University, and a Masters in Digital Anthropology from University College, London.
3 months after it was born, people have started asking whether #ChatGPT should even exist? Are we humans playing God?
I weigh into this argument , so do Stephen Fry and Yuval Noah Harari.
Moravec’s Paradox states that it is easy to train computers and AI to do things that humans find hard, like mathematics, creativity and coding, but it is hard to train them to do things even babies could do, like walking and image recognition. Thus, paradoxically, the initial and highest impact of ChatGPT and Generative AI was felt by media, entertainment and creative industries. In Chapter 3 of the #GenerativeAICommunity conversations, with the awesome Praveen Someshwar, MD and CEO of HT Media Ltd – we will unpack the impact of this revolutionary technology on media, entertainment and leadership.
In Judo you win the fight by using your opponent’s weight and strength as weapons against himself, emphasizing that that good technique and strategy can defeat sheer strength. Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO, is playing judo with #chatgpt. Read more in my article: https://jaspreetbindra.com/technology/search-wars/

A lot of you tuned in to listen to me talking about GenAI in Chapter 1.
But that was just a trailer for the big show.
Chapter 2: Will AI Ever Become Conscious: Everything You Wanted To Know About Conscious AI but Were Afraid To Ask with Dr. Henry Shevlin, Cambridge University and an AI + Consciousness expert.
Webinar :1 of the Series #GenerativeAICommunity
Generative AI like ChatGPT and now GPT4 are going to transform everything, much like mobile phones and the internet did. But what are they, how do i understand them and how will they affect me?
Listen completely while I speak about my views.
I believe that large foundational models like #GPT will be like the cloud, on top of which companies will build innovative #GenerativeAI products. Nearly 500 of them are already funded in this innovation frenzy.
Enough has been written on #chatgpt, but the most intriguing is whether it can replace search and dethrone Google.
One big happening of 2022 eclipsed all the other four –
Musk and Twitter,
The Crypto Crash,
ChatGPT and Large Language Models in AI and
The Tech Meltdown.
Lessons from the decline and fall of the Roman empire can be applied to Twitter and Facebook.
An Indian upbringing is perhaps a unique enough experience to equip executives for complex jobs!
It is intriguing and difficult to explain – how technology is making us go to the future, while simultaneously taking us actually to our past. Perhaps, it can be explained by the Eastern and Indian concept of time, where time is not linear with a beginning and an end or a past and a future, but is circular (kaalchakra), thus driving us back to where we started. It is something that perhaps crossed Albert Einstein’s mind in his later years, when he mused on the past, present, and future existing simultaneously to explain his unfathomable Theory of Relativity. Or perhaps it was the American rapper, Snoop Dogg, who understood it best when he intoned that “You’ve got to go back in time, if you want to move forward.”
Given the panic, death and disruption caused by the COVID 19 virus, it will not surprise you that this word originated from the Sanskrit word vish, or visa, and the Zoroastrian vīša - all meaning poison. We have heard enough about the harmful side of viruses, but did you know that they are responsible for the very survival of our species. In fact, 10% of human DNA is from viruses!
And, yes, they can soon power our cars, 'virus-powered cars'!

What is common to Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, the Game of Go, and the Art of Folding Proteins. “To understand life”, says The Economist, “you must understand proteins.". Even more so, you have to understand and know how they fold.
In this fascinating 12 minute UnEpisode (even if I say so myself), understand how artificial intelligence and the game of Go combined together to solve one of science's most intractable problems, and how this can change everything!
My first UnEpisode for Tech Whispers is on My Seven Tech Predictions for 2021. “A good forecaster,” said an anonymous, but very wise man, “is not smarter than everyone else, he merely as his ignorance better organized.” In the very fist episode of my UnPodcast, I exhibit my ignorance: encapsulated into Top Seven Tech Predictions for 2021.
Discerning listeners would notice that it is already April 2021, so the predictions are three months late. To be very candid, I wrote these in the first week of January this year, but successfully procrastinated until now, and so am putting the UnPodcast regarding them only now.
The good part is that a couple of them have already come true! Give it a listen, it is just about 13 minutes of your time
