In today’s episode, we’re catching up after a wild and busy summer. Jessy shares highlights from her magical Gen Con adventure—including cool game devs and nerdy delights—while Kristen talks about surviving a breakup and, yes… her actual ceiling falling in. (It’s been a time.)
We also chat about how we shuffle and cleanse our cards, how we connect with new decks, and what it looks like to reestablish a tarot practice in the middle of real-life mess. We wrap things up with a reading from Kristen’s new deck that hits a little too close to home in the best possible way. This one’s a cozy mix of chaos, reflection, and a reminder of why we turn to the cards in the first place.

This week we are diving in the DADDY of the major arcana: The Emperor. We explore the difference between a robe and a cloak, why structure might actually be good for us, and how we need to look at this card so that we want to sit on this dude's lap.

In this episode, we spend time with The Empress—not as a symbol of luxury or endless abundance, but as a reminder that care can be grounded, gentle, and even relaxed.
We explore what it means to be a steward of what’s ours to tend—whether that’s a body, a garden, a relationship, or a creative project. The Empress invites us into a slower, softer kind of power—and we ask what it looks like to embrace that without guilt.
This one’s all about spaciousness, responsibility, and the kind of love that doesn’t hustle.

This week, we sit down with The High Priestess—or at least, we try. Honestly? This card stumped us.
We know she’s all about intuition, mystery, and inner knowing... but between the pillars, the scroll, and the symbols rooted in Jewish mysticism, we found ourselves in an interpretive escape room that we’re still trying to solve.
If you’ve ever stared at a tarot card and thought, “I know this means something, but what??” — this episode is for you. We reflect on what it means to sit with the unknown, why some cards are harder to access than others, and how to keep showing up anyway.
(And if you’ve cracked the code on this one, please tell us.)

In this episode, we open ourselves to The Magician—card 1 in the tarot—and explore the layers of meaning and symbolism woven into this archetype. Is that a snake belt? What’s the deal with the table of tools? And what does it actually mean to “manifest” something?
We follow some red threads into yoga philosophy and acceptance and commitment therapy, exploring how presence, intention, and action come together in the magician’s world—and maybe in our own.

In today’s episode, we do a close reading of The Fool card—card 0 in the tarot deck and the beginning of everything. We break down our associations with the symbols and imagery (are those mountains or waves, and why does it matter?) and ask the big question: is the Fool wildly unprepared, or are we the ones carrying too much?
We also explore connections to yoga philosophy, like aparigraha (non-attachment) and sankalpa (intention), and reflect on what’s being invited into our lives when we fully embody Fool energy.

Welcome to the very first episode of Tarot Together! 🃏✨
In this kickoff episode, we’re laying the foundation for the journey ahead. We’ll explore what tarot actually is (hint: it wasn’t always about fortune-telling), how the deck is structured, and a little history of how tarot evolved into the magical, intuitive tool we know today.
We’ll break down:
The Major Arcana: big energy, life lessons, and the Fool’s Journey.
The Minor Arcana: the everyday magic of the four suits—Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles.
A quick but juicy history of tarot, from 15th-century Italy to Pamela Colman Smith’s revolutionary art in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck.
Plus, your hosts Jessy and Kristen share how tarot first found them (spoiler: it involves friendship drama, witchy family influences, and a lot of heart), how we each use tarot now, and our favorite decks to read with.
We’ll also teach you how to do a simple one-card pull and reflect on our very first card draw together: the energetic, fast-moving 8 of Wands.
Whether you’re super witchy and kinda gay, kinda witchy and super gay, or somewhere beautifully in between, you’re welcome here. ✨
Next time: We’ll begin our deep dive into the Major Arcana, starting with The Fool. Let’s go!
