This season finale of Streets or Chill is all about keeping it light and fun to wrap up the year. We kick things off with Ora Jenkin’s thoughts on Dark Matter—breaking it down for Lelo M and debating alternate realities, what would we be like in another universe?
We then shift the conversation to year-end fatigue and why we’ve decided this festive season we actually have to take a break for once. We also share our Christmas traditions, what we’re looking forward to, and how we’re planning to recharge. It’s the perfect way to wind down the season with laughs, reflections, and a little holiday spirit. For bonus content we take our 2nd half of the episode to Tik Tok.
In this heartfelt episode of Streets or Chill, co-hosts Lelo and Andy step up while Ora Jenkin takes a backseat. The duo dives deep into their personal childhood stories, sharing raw and unfiltered experiences of growing up in diverse family dynamics. From the challenges and lessons of their upbringing to how those moments shaped their current relationships and views on the world, it’s a conversation full of vulnerability and reflection.
They also tackle the concept of gentle parenting, questioning its effectiveness and comparing it to the ‘tough love’ methods of past generations. Is this generation being raised too softly?
*Please note this episode was recorded virtually.
In this episode, we start off the show by discussing the recent Siya and Rachel Kolisi situation. We dive deep into the layers of club culture, focusing on the ways women are often sexualized for profit and how club standards can influence how they dress and behave. We break down why these expectations are harmful and explore why they shouldn’t be celebrated.
Then, we get into the comparisons surrounding superstars like Tyla, examining how envy and admiration intersect. Why is it that women often find themselves both inspired by and jealous of the “beautiful girl”? And how does that reflect on society’s standards?
Lastly we talk about tipping culture—debating when tipping is a gesture of respect and when it’s just not necessary.
In this Streets or Chill episode, we unpack the emotional toll of blackmail in friendships, asking tough questions like how much mistreatment is too much and when it’s finally time to walk away. Is their behavior worth holding on to, or is it time to set yourself free? On the pop culture side we speak on Diddy making headlines, Yung Filly's newfound case on sexual assault, and Chris Brown coming to South Africa for a performance that raises eyebrows nationwide.
