In Conversation: What is the ICS? With medical director Dr Andrew Kelso

ICSs have existed in one form or another since 2016, but for most of this time have operated as informal partnerships using soft power and influence to achieve their objectives. Following the passage of the 2022 Health and Care Act, ICSs were formalised as legal entities with statutory powers and responsibilities. In Conversation: Personal health budgets

Personalised care means that patients have more control and choice when it comes to the way their care is planned and delivered, taking into account individual needs, preferences and circumstances. It is a whole system approach that enables a variety of services across the health, social care, public health and community spectrum to be integrated around the individual in order to deliver better outcomes and experiences.

There are many different aspects of personalised care. Shared decision making between clinicians and patients – working collaboratively to reach a decision about treatment that best suits the patient.

Hear from Jo Cowley - SNEE Operations Lead for Personalised Care - and Dawn Taylor - personal health budget delivery adviser - all about how we are working towards delivering personalised care and personal health budgets in Suffolk and northeast Essex.
