The Tennessee Titans take on the 5-3 Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9 as massive underdogs, but this is a perfect spot for an upset for the team. To do so, the Titans will need to get the ground game going on offense and rely on their YAC weapons to make plays. Tyjae Spears, Chim Dike and Chig Okonkwo in particular need to have good games against the Chargers defense. On defense, the Titans are clearly outmatched, but there are a few spots where they may get an advantage and that start on the defensive line with Dre'Mont Jones and T'Vondre Sweat. Finally, the Titans will need a little luck as well and if Justin Herbert has a bad game with some turnovers, there is an opportunity to secure a victory.
The Tennessee Titans take on the Los Angeles Chargers this week and it will be a battle of quarterbacks with Cam Ward facing Justin Herbert. If the Titans hope to get a win, they will need Ward to outduel Herbert when the game is on the line. One of the issues is the Titans secondary is full of secondary players as all three starting cornerbacks at the beginning of the season are now gone and we will see three backup cornerbacks. This could ruin the game for the Titans against a great weapons group. Finally, if the Titans are to get a victory, they will need to take advantage in two areas -- run game and turnovers.
The Tennessee Titan took another big loss to the Indianapolis Colts, but Cam Ward had his best game of the season so far. Ward showed his high level arm talent, playmaking ability and even showed his progress with reading defenses. There were still issues that need to be cleaned up, but fans should be excited about Ward's progress over the past two weeks. The Titans offensive line had maybe it's best game of the year as well despite four sacks as players like JC Latham, Dan Moore and Peter Skoronski continued to play good football with Latham getting back on track. Finally, rookie safety Kevin Winston finally got some real run on defense and didn't do anything to stand out, but that is a good thing.
The Tennessee Titans traded away cornerback Roger McCreary. It's just a sign of more moves to come before next week's trade deadline. We discuss the other possible moves the Titans will make. Plus, how detrimental has the coaching staff been to Cam Ward's development.
The Tennessee Titans made one of what could be many trades coming soon as they shipped cornerback Roger McCreary to the Los Angeles Rams with a swap of late round picks. This is step one in what could be a full-on tank job from the Titans down the stretch of this season. McCreary could just be the first of a few trades that could took place before next week's deadline and names like Calvin Ridley, Arden Key and Tony Pollard should be at the top of the list of candidates. Finally, Mike McCoy had some interesting answers recently that show he was the perfect candidate to lead this tank job, and McCoy knows it.
The Tennessee Titans lost big to the Indianapolis Colts once again this season and once again coaching was a primary component. Mike McCoy routinely made conservative decisions that you simply can't make when you are trying to pull an upset like the Titans were. However, we saw some good things on the day that should be exciting to see. Cam Ward had a nice game and was held back by his coaching and weapons once again although Chim Dike performed again. The offensive line had a pretty good day as well. Sadly though, the defensive side of the ball needs so much work and it emphasizes once again how far away this team is from a roster perspective from being where they need to be.
The Tennessee Titans are massive underdogs going into their Week 8 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts and considering odds are low the Titans can win, this week is a perfect time to start the youth movement. That begins with better play from Cam Ward though, who needs to bounce back from a rough performance in Week 7 that included three turnovers. He could use some help from fellow rookies like Gunnar Helm, Chim Dike and Elic Ayomanor while also getting some protection from JC Latham and Peter Skoronski. On defense, the Titans will need a huge game out of T'Vondre Sweat as he is set to play without being flanked by Jeffery Simmons against the NFL's best rushing attack. He will get some help from Cedric Gray who continues to impress at linebacker. Hopefully, we see more Kevin Winston on defense this week as well.
The Tennessee Titans take on the Indianapolis Colts for a second time this season and if they hope to pull a massive upset, Cam Ward will need to correct some of his issues from Week 7, like turnovers and footwork. However, the Titans defense will also have to find a way to stop the run. That starts with T'Vondre Sweat in the middle who will have a tough task against the Colts offensive line that has been excellent this year. Finally, the Titans are massive underdogs this week and they will need the old-school trio of turnovers, time of possession and minimal mistakes to find a way to pull off a shocker.
The Tennessee Titans are clearly not making the playoffs this year and are quite a ways away from being a contending team, which is why they need to be MAJOR SELLERS at the trade deadline. According to recent reports, it sounds like that is the plan, but it does not sound like Jeffery Simmons will be available and that is smart. However, everyone else outside of the young players needs to be on the market like Calvin Ridley, Dre'Mont Jones, Arden Key and others. The Titans need to try and get any decent return they can for veterans that are not a part of the this team's future. Now what can they get back, odds are only Day 3 picks, but those picks can be combined together to help the Titans make more moves during draft weekend.
The Tennessee Titans had a faster start against the New England Patriots, but it wasn't good enough to win. We discuss how Cam Ward can fix his ball security issues. Plus, why the growing injury list is a concern.
STOP CALLING CAM WARD A BUST!! Tennessee Titans fans and media alike are jumping off the deep end and trying to call Cam Ward's career through seven games and whether it be the supporting cast or recent NFL history, we should know it is far too early to make those claims even if Ward is not playing well. However, some other rookies on offense are playing well in Chim Dike and Gunnar Helm and they should get more opportunities as the season goes on. On defense, there are less glimmers of hope, but we still have Cedric Gray, T'Vondre Sweat and now, Kevin Winston, to get excited about.
The Tennessee Titans lost in the same old ways as they always do to Mike Vrabel's New England Patriots with no pass rush, bad run defense and Cam Ward making terrible turnovers. The 'fired head coach' bump they got last about one quarter before things all came crashing down. Cam ward was at the center of the issues as his fumbling problem continues to crush his team. Ward had some inaccuracy too that has to have fans concerned about whether Ward can win from the pocket long term. Finally, you look at the roster out on the field and it only gets more depressing as it is clear how far the Titans are from fielding a solid team regardless of who is at quarterback.
The Tennessee Titans host Mike Vrabel's New England Patriots this week and are massive underdogs at home. If the Titans hope to pull off an upset, they will need to stick to a classic underdog game plan. At the top of the list, the Titans must prevent Drake Maye from making explosive plays down the field and hope that turns into some game-changing turnovers. If those turnovers are forced, it will likely come from pressure caused by Jeffery Simmons, who is playing at an all-pro level on defense. However, this is too tough of a task for the Titans and Mike McCoy's interim tenure likely starts off with a loss if the Titans don't get some serious breaks to go their way on special teams.
The Tennessee Titans will welcome a familiar face back to town this week as Mike Vrabel looks to get his revenge for being fired two years ago. This comes as the Titans have just fired his replacement and it will undoubtedly make this game a national talking point either way. What helps Vrabel is Drake Maye is playing at a near-MVP level and his ability to create big plays will be tough for the Titans to handle if they cannot get pressure on the young quarterback. Finally, the Titans are big time underdogs and that means they will need to get all of the classics, turnovers, special teams explosives and some luck, to be able to pull off a massive upset at home. The Tennessee Titans announced Mike McCoy as their interim head coach and McCoy spoke about Cam Ward and the team plus what he plans to do next and it was normal coach speak that you hope actually helps behind the scenes. Whatever it is, McCoy needs to make some simple changes to help Ward play better football. However, McCoy likely won't be the long-term head coach after the year and Mike McCarthy would be a perfect candidate with everything he brings to the table, but he is not the only good options available. Finally, there are some coaches who may become available eventually like Kevin Stefanski who the Titans need to keep their eye on.
The Tennessee Titans have FIRED head coach Brian Callahan after a disastrous start to his second season and it is something that needed to happen. Callahan was hurting the football team and most importantly Cam Ward. Now with Callahan gone, the Titans can focus on actually making some improvements and hopefully that will happen with Jon Bones Fassell as the interim head coach. However, we could see Mike McCoy, as a former head coach, take over that spot to keep everyone else in their current roles. No matter what happens, everything going forward has to be about helping Cam Ward, who has been struggling even more in recent weeks.
The Tennessee Titans got drubbed once again, this week by the Las Vegas Raiders, proving once again that last week's win was an absolute fluke. At this point, if Brian Callahan isn't fired, it is because the Titans actually want to lose as many games as they can this season. Losing is one thing, but Cam Ward looking like the worst quarterback in the NFL is really what should get Callahan fired because that is what truly matters this season, but Ward being bad won't leave him lonely as this team is awful across the board. Even more frustrating, the Titans had some good performances from Jeffery Simmons and Femi Oladejo and the defense overall for a while before the lack of offense crippled the team.
The Tennessee Titans take on the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6 with a great chance to get a winning streak going, but to do so they must ATTACK the zone heavy defense of the Raiders and do it out of heavy personnel with multiple tight ends. This creates good matchups they can take advantage of. They will also need JC Latham back out on the field to help deal with Raiders all-pro Maxx Crosby. Crosby can wreck a game, just like rookie running back Ashton Jeanty. To stop Jeanty, the Titans will need impressive young linebacker Cedric Gray to continue playing well and stick with Jeanty everywhere. Finally, Tyler isn't confident the Titans win this game on the road, but thinks you can count on certain players to make a big impact.
The Tennessee Titans won their first game in Week 5 and now have a chance to stack another against the Las Vegas Raiders. With a tough schedule remaining and not many chances for a win left, the Titans truly need to come out like a team on fire in Sin City. A big part of that effort will be slowing down the Raiders stars like Maxx Crosby on defense and Ashton Jeanty on offense. If the Titans can slow those two, they have a real opportunity to win. Finally, winning the turnover battle against interception-prone Geno Smith will be critical to finding a way to get a victory here. Q Meyers from Locked on Raiders joins the show for this Crossover Thursday episode.
