The comedy in this movie is refreshing, because of the era of comedy that it was released in; this one is the most reigned-in and caters to me in that way. Other movies like Superbad, The Hangover, and Role Models released around the same time - but Due Date was always my favorite out of that bunch of comedies. I could watch the chemistry between RDJ & Galifinakis all day; love Todd Philips too.

Director Sam Mendes and writer Alan Ball captured a such a specific view into humanity in this film. The exploration of human behavior and human psyche is fascinating; with a perfect cast bring these characters to life. This movie is a treasure to lovers of cinema, and an inspiration to those who aspire to create films.

Christian Bale is my Batman. Heath Ledger is my Joker. Christopher Nolan's gritty reimagining of these two characters catered to an audience that was over comic book movies. Those three men understood the assignment and delivered a product that will endure the test of time. This is a phenomenal stand-alone action movie, on top of being a great superhero story too.

One of my all time favorite Mel Gibson starring films. Ron Howard is an underrated director and deserves his praise for this gem he made. Connections can be found between this movie about an 8-year old kid being kidnapped, and the Sound of Freedom movie that just released on July 4th. Ransom has been made unavailable to stream/rent/buy on any streaming services... I WONDER WHY.

My personal favorite of all the Mission Impossible movies in the franchise. It is 75% because of Phillip Seymour Hoffman and his cold, calculated, and sadistic villain. No other M:I bad guys have lived up to the iconic role that PCH brought to us; I miss that man so much. This is also smaller in scale and set apart from the rest of the franchise, all for reasons I love!

The Vietnam war holds a special place in my heart, and my compassion is full for those who served in that dreadful war; that could have been avoided. Oliver Stone pours his heart into this movie, having served 2 years in the war himself; he made this movie for his own sanity. This movie is brutal to watch at times, and it made it so on purpose. He is showing us the brutality of that war, and how inhumane it became for everyone involved. How did those veterans fit back into society afterwards? I'm not sure they ever did. I sincerely thank anyone who served in this war.

Other comedians who were set to star in this role, would not have worked nearly as well as Steve Carell did. This bone chilling role for Robin Williams solidified him as way more than just a comedian. He had done dramatic roles prior to this, but this is by far the most complex and dynamic character that he got to play. It's hard to find the message of the movie until the very final scene; and then it all clicks into perspective. A film about either continuing on, or stopping a trauma cycle.

The best sports movie, in my humblest of opinionates. I'm not an expert on sports related films, but this is by far the most emotionally driven; and emotionally moving films of it's genre. I think it's a drama at its core, layered with masterful screenwriting; carried by the high caliber acting performances. This review was a must!
