Story Transcript:

Af: Die luggie was vars oor Tafelberg op hierdie pragtige lente-oggend.
En: The air was fresh over Tafelberg on this beautiful spring morning.

En: The sunlight shone through the mist and enveloped the mountain peaks with a golden glow.

En: It was Erfenisdag, and people came out in numbers to celebrate their national pride.

En: Annelie, Hendrik, and Fritz decided to embark on a special adventure.

Af: Annelie het 'n groot belangstelling in geskiedenis gehad.
En: Annelie had a great interest in history.

En: She firmly believed that there was an ancient civilization that lived on the mountain long ago.

En: Hendrik, on the other hand, was skeptical.

Af: Hy het altyd vrae gevra en vrae in ander se idees gesoek.
En: He always asked questions and sought questions in others' ideas.

En: Fritz was as always ready for any adventure and smiled as he swung his backpack over his shoulder.

En: "Come, we must find that place before dusk," Fritz urged them as they began to walk the rocky path.

En: The path was not easy, rough stones and dense bushes complicated the route.

En: Annelie was at the forefront, her eyes full of expectation.

En: Hendrik followed closely, constantly asking, "Where's the evidence to your story, Annelie? Do you have anything to show? Or are you just relying on tales?"

En: Annelie didn't speak, her thoughts captured by the idea that something special lay just ahead of them.

En: The stones under their feet began to feel soft, and the moist smell of plants filled the air.

En: A sharp birdcall broke the silence, and just as they rounded a sharp bend, they discovered something interesting.

Af: Voor hulle, teen 'n groot rotswand, was daar 'n halfbeskermde insnyding wat deur die eeue heen versteek was.
En: In front of them, against a large rock face, was a half-hidden indentation that had been concealed through the ages.

En: Annelie approached, letting the others follow behind her.
