En: The winter sun burns faintly over the red sand of the Kalahari.

Af: Elmarie, Pieter en Johan staan op die rand van die woestyn.
En: Elmarie, Pieter, and Johan stand on the edge of the desert.

Af: “Hier is ons avontuur,” sê Elmarie met 'n glinster in haar oë.
En: “Here is our adventure,” says Elmarie with a sparkle in her eyes.

Af: Sy is 'n geskiedenis-onderwyseres met 'n passie om ou kultuur te ontdek en te bewaar.
En: She is a history teacher with a passion for discovering and preserving ancient culture.

Af: Die San-rotstekeninge is haar doelwit.
En: The San rock paintings are her target.

Af: Pieter, haar avontuurlustige neef, glimlag breed.
En: Pieter, her adventurous cousin, smiles broadly.
