Af: Die helder sonsopkoms oor Tafelberg het nuwe avonture voorspel.
En: The bright sunrise over Tafelberg predicted new adventures.

Af: Pieter en Elna het besluit om hierdie koue wintersdag op die bergspore deur te bring.
En: Pieter and Elna decided to spend this cold winter's day on the mountain trails.

Af: Hy het sy rugsak met snacks en water gepak, elke item versigtig bepaal.
En: He packed his backpack with snacks and water, carefully selecting each item.

Af: Elna, aan die ander kant, was al aan die frons oor Pieter se stadig-aan benadering.
En: Elna, on the other hand, was already frowning at Pieter's slow approach.

Af: Sy het voorslaan om net die mooi dag te geniet.
En: She suggested simply enjoying the beautiful day.

Af: "Hou jy nie van verrassings nie, Pieter?

En: Around them stretched the Kaap's best panorama — a shimmering ocean on one side and the sprawling city on the other.

En: They were in the midst of a natural paradise.

Af: Toe, onverwags, het 'n kaapse bobbejaan vanaf 'n gedroogde boomstomp vir hulle geloer.
En: Then, unexpectedly, a kaapse bobbejaan peeked at them from a dried-up tree stump.

En: Within moments, they were surrounded by a troop of these playful creatures.
