Aaron Burr Part II: His Original Sin
This is the second in a series of six episodes regarding America's fallen founder, Aaron Burr.  This episode traces his rise and subsequent downfall in Republican political circles.  Burned once before my Thomas Jefferson, Burr's vow to oblige every single elector to throw a vote towards him - resulting in a tied election in 1800.  Once tossed to the vote, Alexander Hamilton's backroom dealings lends credence to the fact that Burr might be seeking the top office for himself.  In the face of Virginia's raising of an army to back Jefferson, Hamilton relented - pulling the strings of another congressmen to crown Thomas Jefferson.  In his explanation, he torches the ground that Burr stride upon - referring to him as an embryo caesar and setting the stage for their infamous duel.    Contact the show at resourcesbylowery@gmail.com or on Bluesky @EmpiresPod If you would like to financially support the show, please use the following paypal link.
