America & the Philippines Part IV: MacArthur's Mission
This is the fourth in a series of five episodes regarding America's history with its first colony, the Philippines. World War II has come to the Pacific. At the center of America's plans for the theatre lie the Philippines and its self-appointed hero Douglas MacArthur. We'll trace MacArthur's early career wobbles, his defense plans for the archipelago, as well as the numerous Japanese atrocities during the brutal battles for control of America's most important Pacific asset.
