E2: Blessed Belles Win Bank Bounty... Before Us (WALLET 2025)

The Bank of Utah's Where’s the Wallet Cash Quest has come to a close—and spoiler: we didn’t win. But the winners did agree to come on our podcast and tell us how they solved it, so that’s something. In this episode, we interview the dream team behind the find (Jeanette, Koaly, and Stazie), who cracked the clues, avoided the rabbit holes, and hiked to the exact right rock—while the rest of us were still arguing about fonts in Clue 2.We also talk about what this year’s hunt did right (charity prize, solid clues, actual feasting metaphors), what we hope Bank of Utah does next year (don’t give up on us), and what it felt like to lose to people way nicer and more competent than us.Please excuse the occasional weird edit—we had technical issues, including a lost original recording. The interview you hear is technically Take Two, but still full of heart, screaming, and a cave wallet.#utah #treasure #treasurehunts #bankofutah #podcast

Ep 4: Exclusive Hints from John and Dave (POEM 25)

In this episode of Cache Me Outside, we sit down with the two men behind the $25,000 Utah Treasure Hunt — Dave and John. They reveal never-before-shared hints about this year’s poem, discuss what dark side of the moon really means, and answer fan-submitted questions about clues, misdirections, and how close people actually are.

We cover:

  • Whether stones are literal rocks

  • What “lion-hearted” really points to

  • If there’s a throwaway line in the poem

  • How close someone actually is to the treasure

  • Their favorite (and most misunderstood) lines

  • And more exclusive hints

This is the episode where things start to unravel. If you’re hunting, you don’t want to miss it.

Ep 2: Bowser? I Hardly Know Her (POEM 25)

Strap in. In this episode, we discover a new nickname for Chad/Nips, Emma Watson makes an appearance, beef jerky is somehow involved, Olympic conspiracies, Dark Side of the Moon, Donny Osmond’s jawline, and theeeeennnnnnn we get to actual treasure hunt theories—in that order.

We break down the last six lines of the 2025 Utah Treasure Hunt poem and spiral into beautiful nonsense along the way. If you’re here for serious solves, we got those.

If you’re here for pharaoh-shaped rocks, Princess Peach whistle lore, and Christian’s theory about the Olympics being the secret theme… we got that too.

⸻

Best review on this episode will win $25. You get bonus points for the most creative roast about Christian (review on Spotify or Apple Podcasts).⸻

🏆 In This Episode:

• The nipple comment that won’t die

• A heated debate: Pharaoh headdress or pyramid?

• Memory Grove, metaphors, and data centers

• Christian’s Olympic torchlight theory (surprisingly kind of good)

• Beef jerky on the trail: snack or sacred symbol?

• “Whistle with Princess Peach” – and somehow that matters

• Was Donny Osmond the final clue all along?

⸻

💬 Viewer Challenges:

• Spot the ChatGPT moment (someone thinks they can)

• Tell us what we should do for our punishments if we lose our bets

• Let us know if Emma Watson has ever tweeted about hiking in Utah (asking for a friend)

⸻

Drop a comment. Roast a theory. Correct our geography.

Or just admit you’re here for the weird tangents and phallic-adjacent humor.

👍 Like if your solve involves the Bonneville Shoreline Trail

Ep 1: Chasing Booty on the Dark Side of the Moon (POEM '25)

In this episode, we dive headfirst into the first six lines of the 2025 Utah Treasure Hunt poem. We break down each line, look for patterns, and explore possible interpretations based on how John and Dave have crafted their clues in years past. Drawing on their previous solves, we attempt to get inside their heads and understand how they might be thinking this time around.

Also, just a heads up, this was our first attempt at filming a video podcast, and well… we hit a few snags with the audio. It’s not perfect, but we’re learning as we go. Thanks for your patience and sticking with us!

E3 - The Story of Julia Thomas | Dutchman's Gold Mine (Lost Treasure Series)

The story of Julia Thomas begins where the life of the Dutchman himself ends.

When Jacob Waltz died, he supposedly trusted the general location of the gold mine to Julia Thomas, who then spent years searching for the mine and stumbled onto some pretty promising leads.

Ultimately though, Julia would end up joining some weird religion and selling maps to the lost gold mine that she never located.

Whatever your opinion of the veracity of the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine itself, you have to wonder why someone would leave behind a secure source of income and dedicate all of that time and money to finding a treasure... if they weren't entirely sure of its reality.
