S02E07: Amelia (Amelia Automotive)
Hello and welcome to today's episode. This time, Alex is joined by his friend across the pond, Amelia, aka Amelia Automotive. Amelia is in the automotive marketing industry and has been a life-long petrolhead with a great car collection. Unsurprisingly, she goes for a lightly modified 2007 Range Rover Supercharged - known internally as the L322 on Cars & Bids.  Alex also goes with a JLR product - a Polaris White over Navy 2013 Jaguar XKR - the XK's final model year. Moving on, Amelia talks about her latest acquisition - a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR; a car that she has always dreamed of owning. Following this, they both talk about their passion for the Land Rover brand, specifically the Range Rover and the Defender, both new and old. As always, we wrap up with a Q&A session. Thanks for tuning in!

S02E06: Brandon Brooks (The Idiot's Podcast)

In this week's episode, Alex is joined by his friend Brandon Brooks, a fellow car enthusiast from Cincnnati. Brandon and his friends host The Idiot's Podcast. The Idiot's Podcast is a podcast about funny current events, random news articles and have a laugh along the way. In all, it is a great podcast hosted by great people. In Alex's opinion, it is one of his favorite forms of entertainment... just don't listen to it with your mother in the room. On Cars & Bids, Alex selects a 2013 Mini JCW GP - a limited-run track-focused Mini. It is a cool car, but also one that just does not make a ton of sense. Brooks goes for an immaculate 1999 Mercedes-Benz SL600 that screams 90's nostalgia. Following this, they talk about the new Ferrari Purosangue - a name that Alex finally learns how to pronounce correctly. They also discuss Aston Martin's plans to keep the V12 around and finish by going over just how laughable the fuel economy is on the new Oshkosh mail truck. Thanks for tuning in!

S02E05: David Feerrar

In today's episode, Alex is joined by his friend and fellow Land Rover enthusiast, David Feerrar. Since David doesn't have a webcam, he decided to have his profile picture be the Wikipedia picture of the Spanish tennis player, David Ferrer. On Cars & Bids, Alex chooses a 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 that is lightly optioned, but still has everything you need. David goes for a really clean 2007 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG, formerly owned by VINWiki's Ed Bolian. The main topic for today is car configurators. Alex and David each went online and configured three cars. Everything went according to plan until the website of a German automaker decided to be very un-German and not work properly. As always, we end with a Q&A session. Thanks for tuning in!

S02E04: GMA T.33, the new Sequoia, Bronco Raptor, Kia EV6 and the refreshed 8 Series
Today we are trying something new - a shorter episode. Although it may be shorter, it still is not lacking in content. On Cars & Bids, Alex goes for something very unorthodox for him: a 2019 Lincoln Navigator Black Label. He explains why this is a seriously good full-size luxury SUV. Following this we talk about Gordon Murray's new T.33 - a less-expensive version of his McLaren F1-inspierd T.50. We next talk about the all-new Toyota Sequoia, which has been redesigned for the first time since 2008 and is now finally competitive in its segment. Moving on, Kia has finally released details and pricing for the US spec EV6 - a car that has received overwhelmingly good reviews. We finish up the show by discussing the all-new Ford Bronco Raptor and the LCI BMW 8 Series. Thanks for tuning in!

S02E03: Grace Davies (@gracexautomotive)

In today's episode, Alex is joined by one of his close friends, Grace Davies. Grace is a fellow car enthusiast from England, where she is the social media manager for H.R. Owen Ferrari in London. To start off, Grace chooses a mint Rosso Corsa 2005 Ferrari F430 Spider, with the all-important 6-speed gated manual. Alex chooses two cars with a very interesting connection: a 2016 Maserati GranTurismo MC also finished in Rosso Corsa (with matching red high-heels in the footwell) and a 2021 Ford Mach-E GT. Tune in to find out the connection that these two cars have. Next, Grace and Alex each choose two cars to discuss that are scheduled to debut or go on sale in 2022. Following this, they both have an important discussion on the effects that social media can have on one's mental health. Yes, it is a car podcast, but it is an important topic that needs to be discussed. As always, we end with a fun Q&A round. Big thanks to Grace for joining us on the show and thanks for tuning in!

S02E02: Discussing the new Range Rover with Emeka Ossai (Driven Hard)

Hello and welcome to today's episode where we are joined by Emeka Ossai, who runs the Driven Hard YouTube channel. Emeka is a Land Rover enthusiast, owning a Range Rover Sport Autobiography that he, well, drives hard. No, seriously; he DOES drive his Range Rover hard to prove that stock Land Rovers (even ones with 21" wheels) are incredibly capable without any modifications. The topic of today's episode is the all-new 2022 fifth-generation Range Rover, known internally as the L460. Despite looking similar to the outgoing L405 Range Rover, the L460 is all-new from the ground up. Based on JLR's new MLA Flex platform, the L460 is more advanced, connected, luxurious and capable than ever before. Tune in to hear Emeka and Alex's thoughts and opinions on the new Range Rover!

S02E01: The Ultimate Ugly Machine, Local V-Wagon, Million Dollar Lexus and the Ferrari Jigsaw Puzzle

Hello and welcome to Season 2 of the Autos & Airwaves Podcast! In today's episode, Alex celebrates the new year with an over-engineered noise maker that was probably designed by a German. Next, he finds one of his dream cars on Cars & Bids - a 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon 6-speed, but one with a questionable history, as it was in two accidents. However, Alex discovers that it was sold at a Cadillac dealer that is literally ONE MILE down the road from his old high school. Moving on, we discuss the new BMW XM Concept in detail, now that it has been fully revealed. Well, the XM is ugly, stupid, unnecessary, the interior looks like a cheap nightclub and in all, it is a total disgrace to the heritage of BMW's M Division. From there we talk about a Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition that recently sold for a whopping $1.1 million, an upcoming Subaru STI EV concept car and the first spy photos of the new Rolls-Royce Spectre. Finally, Alex talks about Ferrari's 75th anniversary, where they forged pieces for a jigsaw puzzle at the factory in Maranello and had every employee help put together the puzzle, which turned out not just to be a puzzle, but a massive prancing horse statue. Thanks for tuning in!

S01E10: Christmas Special

Hello and welcome to the first annual Autos & Airwaves Christmas Special! Alex is joined by his first two guests Andrew Shehata (Examined Media) and Natisha Chatten (Auto Social UK).  In this fun, holiday-themed episode, Alex, Tish and Andrew talk about what automotive-themed Christmas gifts that they would want underneath their Christmas tree. You'll need quite a large tree to fit a 911 Targa 4 GTS, F-Type R and an i20 N underneath! (Take a wild guess who chose which car.)

This is the conclusion of Season 1, and I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for tuning in to the Autos & Airwaves podcast; it has done way better than I was ever expecting it to. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the A&A Podcast and we'll see you in January for Season 2!

S01E09: Kristin Thul (@lr4five)

In today's episode, Alex is joined by one of his good friends, Kristin Thul. Kristin is an avid Land Rover enthusiast, owning a 2015 LR4/Discovery 4. She has also competed in the Rebelle Rally. Rebelle is an all-female off-road navigation rally that takes place in the Nevada/California desert, where participants have to find checkpoints in the desert without the use of GPS or cell phones. All you have are maps and a compass. In short, it's the ultimate off-road scavenger hunt. Kristin finds a lovely 2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 on Cars & Bids - probably one of the cleanest ones out there. Alex finds a 2021 Aston Martin Vantage - WITH the rare 7-speed dogleg manual transmission. next, they talk about the Rebelle, where Kristin talks about the two times she competed - once in her Discovery 4 and once in her Ford F-250 pickup. Following this, the two talk about their love for the D4, as well as they talk about Kristin's Bronco that she has on order. Big thanks to Kristin for joining us here on the show, and thanks for tuning in!

S01E08: The Integra's back, the ultimate 718, BMW XM Concept and PLAID!!!

In today's episode, Alex finds the Holy Grail of L322 Range Rovers on Cars & Bids - a 2012 Supercharged finished in the lovely Galway Green metallic over Arabica with less than 46,000 miles on the clock! Next, Alex talks about test driving the Tesla Model S Plaid, which is the fastest accelerating car on sale today. Spoiler alert: it's INSANE. However, it is far from perfect, as it still suffers from quality issues and poor ergonomics - mostly due to the yoke steering wheel. Moving on, Alex goes over the new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS - the latest animal to come out of Flact by none other than Andy Preuninger and his crack team of engineers at Porsche's GT division. Following this, we talk about the new Acura Integra "Prototype," (Honda speak for concept cars that are 99.5% production-ready) and why it is going to be a wonderful entry-level luxury performance hatchback when it goes on sale next year. Finally, we end this episode by having a discussion about the new BMW XM concept, which looks absolutely heinous, much like everything else BMW has come up with recently. Thanks for tuning in!

S01E07: Abigayle (She Talks Cars)

Hello and welcome to another guest episode of the Autos & Airwaves podcast! Today's guest is Alex's friend Abigayle, aka She Talks Cars, who is joining us all the way from England. As with every episode, we start off the show with the Cars & Bids segment. This time, Alex chooses a lovely 2008 Porsche 911 GT3 RS with all the right options, and Abigayle - much to Alex's surprise - chooses a tastefully-modified 2005 Hummer H2. Next, they discuss the UK's strong push towards electrification, but Alex is still convinced that the government will quietly roll back their set targets for the ICE ban. Following this, the next topic of discussion is TikTok. Abigayle has been trying to get Alex to join TikTok for months; telling him that it is a great platform to grow your business, another outlet to create content, and to reach another kind of audience. She wore him down so much, he finally decided to give in and promises to join TikTok. Abigayle, being a fellow Land Rover owner talks about her experience with her Range Rover Evoque. Finally, we end the show with a Q&A session, as always. Spoiler alert: Alex was disappointed with Abigayle's car of the year. Big thanks to Abigayle for joining us here on the show, and we can't wait for her to come on again!

S01E06: Halloween Special w/ Brian (Vroom Vroom Brian)

Hello, and welcome to the fourth guest episode of the Autos & Airwaves podcast! This episode is our Halloween Special, and Alex is joined by Brian aka Vroom Vroom Brian, all they way from beautiful sunny California. Brian runs a YouTube channel where he car spots in L.A., discusses car markets, and analyzes the auto industry. Since it is our Halloween Special, Alex thought it would be a great idea to dress up in a mummy costume. In fact, it has to be the WORST mummy costume in the history of Halloween costumes. Yes, it was that bad. Of course, we start off with the Cars & Bids segment. Next, in the spirit of Halloween, Alex and Brian compiled a list of ugly cars that are scary, such as the PT Cruiser, Ssangyong Rodius and more. Those cars are quite frightening - just like Halloween. Next, they talk about the all-new Corvette Z06, explain why it is the most important track-focused supercar of the year, and why this is GM's most advanced sports car to date. And as always, we wrap things up with a Q&A session.

S01E05: Jacob Bach (@nardo.rs3, @tankhalfempty)

Hello and welcome to the third guest episode of the Autos & Airwaves podcast! In today's show, Alex is joined by his good friend, Jacob Bach, all the way from the exotic city of... Charlotte, North Carolina. Alex describes Jacob as a "good ole boy with a great taste in cars." Jacob finds a very nice example of a classic Range Rover on Cars & Bids, where Alex finds a brand-new Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing - a car that he recently drove. He discusses his thoughts on the CT4-V Blackwing, as well as the CT5-V Blackwing, and explains why they are the best luxury performance sedans currently on sale. Since Jacob and Alex both have purchased a new Land Rover Defender in the past year, they discuss their ownership experience so far with the Defender. They talk about what they love about it, what they don't like about it, and what's gone wrong since taking delivery. The next topic that they discuss is the topic of Chinese knock-offs. Before China could really make a car on their own, they just copied other designs; most notably, the Land Wind X7, which is a carbon copy of the Range Rover Evoque. Moving on from that, Jacob offers Alex some really stupid financial advice on how to pay for his car, that has actually already been paid off. As always, with our guest episodes, we wrap up the show with a Q&A session. Big thanks to Jacob for coming on the show, and we can't wait to have him on the show again down the road!

S01E04: Grillz by Lexus ft. LX600, the return of the Integra and JLR Discovering time travel?

In today's episode, Alex finds a gorgeous 2012 Aston Martin Virage on Cars & Bids and explains why it was a massive failure for Aston Martin. Following the Cars & Bids segment, we discuss the 2022 model year changes for one of Alex's favorite EVs, the Ford Mach-E. Next, we talk about the new Lexus LX600, which is the only version of the new 300 Series Land Cruiser that the North American market will get. Don't worry - we do have a chat about the massive grille. The new LX should've had a cameo in the music video for "Grillz" by Nelly. Land Rover seems to have discovered time travel, as the 5th generation Discovery is now in its SEVENTH model year, despite only being on sale for four years. As a Discovery owner, Alex explains why it's still very competitive, despite often being overlooked. We here at the show would like to offer a huge thank you to Acura, who have recently announced that the upcoming Integra hatchback will definitely be offered with a 6 speed manual transmission! Finally, the show wraps up with a discussion about the all-new Honda Civic Si and why it still remains one of the best performance car bargains that you can buy. Thank you for tuning in!

S01E03: Natisha Chatten (Auto Social UK)

Hello and welcome to the second guest episode of the Autos & Airwaves Podcast. In today's show, Alex is joined by his good friend Natisha Chatten, aka Auto Social UK; our first international guest on the show! Hailing from England, Tish is a self-described "automotive social media influencer," i.e., she runs a successful YouTube channel and social media accounts; is a presenter on another YouTube channel specializing in EV content; and is quite possibly, the person with the coolest accent ever to join us here on A&A. Tish and Alex both select cars from Cars & Bids that are surprising to, well, absolutely nobody at all. Those being a small and sensible German hatchback and an obnoxiously loud and beautiful British sports car (take a guess who chose which car). Next, they discuss the recent fuel crisis in the UK, which surprise, surprise, was sparked by the media. Following that, they chat about the chip shortage and how it is affecting both the new and used car markets. From there Tish talks about the weirdest things she's found in dealer trade-ins, before wrapping up with a Q&A session. Big thanks to Tish for coming on the show, and we can't wait to have her on the show again down the road!

S01E02: Hypocritical Volvo, the New Tundra, Porsche's bold EV future and the ultimate R8 jackpot?
In today's episode, Alex finds a fantastic specimen of an Audi R8 Spyder on Cars & Bids, WITH the 6 speed gated manual transmission. The next point of discussion is Volvo's seemingly hypocritical statements about their vision towards a sustainable future. Following the Volvo discussion, Alex talks about the all-new third generation Toyota Tundra and why it is now once again a strong competitor to the F-150, Ram 1500 and Silverado. Porsche's bold decision to electrify the 718 and Macan is brought up, with Alex giving his strong opinions on that subject. Next, we briefly talk about the 2022 facelift for the Ford Expedition and upcoming Bronco Raptor, before finishing off the show by having a chat about the new Honda Civic hatchback. Before we get into things, I just wanted to inform the listeners that the audio issues that plague this episode have been remedied and will NOT be an issue in upcoming episodes. In today's episode, Alex is joined by his good friend Andrew Shehata (@examinedmedia on Instagram and YouTube). First off, they each find a car on Cars & Bids to talk about, then they compare the all-new Nissan Z and the A90 Supra, and discuss the questionable future direction of BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Andrew gives his thoughts on driving the Ferrari SF90, we have a chat about Andrew's latest addition to his collection, explain why the ZF 8 speed is the best torque converter automatic ever made, and we end with a Q&A session.
