Arun Jain reflects on Design Thinking journey - Celebrating 12th Anniversary of FT8012 Design Center

Design Thinking has transformed from a core iterative process to a rule book for all our products and is at the core of our 8012 FinTech Design Center. This world’s first Transformation Center dedicated to Design Thinking Principles enables co-creation of products that go beyond the expectations of our customers. It is a lab that drives collaborative experiences by making the Design process intellectually stimulating.

Commemorating the 12th Anniversary of 8012 FinTech Design Center, our Chief Designer and Chief Architect, Arun Jain, reflects on the journey in Design Thinking, inspired by Silicon Valley's customer focus. He elucidated Intellect's philosophy of "Designing the Thinking" to achieve high performance for individuals and organisations, introducing the concept of the "Purple House" with its six mind spaces. He further highlighted the application of Design Thinking in creating eMACH.ai, the First Principles Thinking based Most Comprehensive, Composable and Intelligent Open Finance Platform aimed at simplifying banking and reducing costs, and Purple Fabric, an enterprise-grade business impact AI platform utilising vectorised knowledge and agentic systems to deliver accurate business solutions.

The Purple House: Doing Room - Episode 4

In the fourth Podcast episode of "The Purple House", Swami from the Indian village of Malgudi reflects on his eagerness to understand what is inside the Doing Room. Arun links the elements in the room -- Planning, Time Management and Balancing Priorities -- to how he and his team at Nucleus Software started planning to write software for an ATM machine for a bank in 1987. Despite not having seen the actual machine, they imagined how it would work and began creating a detailed plan. However, upon receiving the machines in October, they found that there were three different machines instead of the imagined two - one for embossing cards, one for encoding cards, and one for getting the money. This required a change in priorities and a reevaluation of the plan to accommodate the new reality, all while adhering to the unmovable deadline of launching the machines.
