Megan Thee Stallion: A Biography
Early Life and Education Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, professionally known as Megan Thee Stallion, was born on February 15, 1995, in San Antonio, Texas. Her mother, Holly Thomas, was a rapper who performed under the name "Holly-Wood" and greatly influenced Megan's interest in music. Megan grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended Pearland High School. She later pursued higher education at Prairie View A&M University, where she studied health administration.
Musical Career Megan began her rap career by uploading videos of herself freestyling on social media platforms. Her talent quickly gained attention, and she released her first mixtape, "Rich Ratchet," in 2016. She followed up with the "Tina Snow" EP in 2018, which featured the hit single "Big Ole Freak."
In 2019, Megan signed with 300 Entertainment and released her second mixtape, "Fever," which received critical acclaim and included the popular track "Cash Shit" featuring DaBaby. The same year, she collaborated with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign on the single "Hot Girl Summer," which became a cultural phenomenon and topped the charts.
Megan's debut studio album, "Good News," was released in 2020 and featured the smash hit "Savage" featuring Beyoncé. The song earned Megan her first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and two Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
Personal Life and Controversies In July 2020, Megan was involved in an incident where she was shot in the foot, allegedly by rapper Tory Lanez. The incident sparked conversations about violence against women in the hip-hop industry. Megan has been vocal about her experience and has used her platform to advocate for women's rights and to raise awareness about violence against women.
