    Live from Mount Olympus
    Onassis Foundation
A dramatic adventure for tweens and listeners of all ages, Live from Mount Olympus weaves timeless Greek myths with the artistry of foremost contemporary theater-makers and the imaginative power of audio. Hermes, god of storytellers, travelers, and thieves (Tony Award-winner André De Shields) is our host. Season Six: Theseus and Ariadne: When King Minos of Crete demands fourteen young Athenians to feed to the monstrous Minotaur, Prince Theseus and a lively group of teenagers set sail. Minos expects his daughter Ariadne to watch quietly as the Athenian tributes meet their gruesome deaths. But Eros, mischievous god of love, takes aim with his arrows, changing the fate of Theseus and Ariadne.   Season Five: Pandora: Zeus, king of the gods, commands Hephaestus to sculpt a beautiful woman out of clay, and orders each god to grant her a gift.  Aphrodite bathes her in grace, Athena bestows wisdom, Zeus himself imbues her with insatiable curiosity, and Hermes gives her language and her name: Pandora, "all the gifts."  While you may think you know Pandora's story, you’ve never heard it told this way before. Season Four: Prometheus: You’d think being able to see the future would be a gift – but Prometheus’s visions are never completely clear, and he quickly learns that not everyone wants to see what lies ahead. When he glimpses a coming war that will threaten the whole world, Prometheus knows he must forge an unlikely alliance with the young Olympian Zeus.  But their friendship is tested when they find they have very different ideas about how to restore a shattered world.  Season Three: Atalanta: A tiny newborn, abandoned in the forest, is adopted by a mama bear who raises her as her own. Under the divine guidance of Artemis and Athena, the bear girl grows up wise and strong, a skilled archer ready for adventure. When she meets the greatest heroes in all Greece - who are none too happy to hunt alongside a girl - Atalanta surprises them all. Season Two: Demeter and Persephone: Persephone is eager to strike out on her own for the first time, but is immediately pulled into the underworld and must find her power in the darkness. Her mother Demeter fights to bring her back to the sunlight, and nothing can grow. Can the Olympians stop fighting before humanity starves? Season One: Perseus: Young Perseus makes a rash promise to save his mother from the clutches of an evil king, and must strike out on a dangerous quest full of terrifying monsters, powerful gods, and a brave girl who will change our hero’s life forever. Live from Mount Olympus is a production of the Onassis Foundation, created and produced by Peabody Award-winning showrunner Julie Burstein, co-produced by the Brooklyn-based theater ensemble The TEAM, and directed by Rachel Chavkin, Zhailon Levingston, Keenan Tyler Oliphant, and Josiah Davis. Karen Brooks Hopkins is executive producer. Live from Mount Olympus is written by Nathan Yungerberg. Audio production and mix by John Melillo. Audio editing and sound design by Yonatan Rekem. Magdalini Giannikou composed our original music, performed by Banda Magda and mixed and mastered by Luca Bordonaro. Jason Adam Katzenstein created our illustrations and is series humor consultant. The Fathers Guild
    Pat Barber
The Fathers Guild started with a simple gut-check: why isn’t there a place where guys can talk honestly about being dads? Not just the Instagram-worthy moments. Not just the high-fives and first steps. We’re talking about the late-night doubts, the pressure to get it right, and the constant hustle to lead well. even when we’re dead tired, stretched thin, or flying blind. If that sounds like something you’ve been craving, pull up a chair. You’re not alone. And you’re definitely not done growing. Come see what we’re about.

    Entry Level Mums
    Nasra and Sawiya
Started by two young Somali mums in London, Entry Level Mums is more than just a podcast - it’s a space for real, unfiltered conversations about motherhood. Nasra and Sawiya don’t sugarcoat the journey. They share their experiences with honesty, vulnerability, and, of course, a good dose of banter. With completely different birth stories - Nas having a natural birth and Sawiya a C-section - they bring two unique perspectives to the table. But one thing they both agree on? Postpartum was tough. Isolating, overwhelming, and nothing like what they expected. No one should feel alone in motherhood.

    Talkaboutable with Dr. Susan Swick
    Lemonada Media
Ever wish someone could just tell you the right thing to say to your kid? Me too. Parenting brings us the greatest gifts and it can be messy, confusing, and downright exhausting.    I’m Dr. Susan Swick, a child and adolescent psychiatrist. I’m also a mom of 4. And I believe if you can talk about it with your kids, you can tackle it. We can make it Talkaboutable.    Each episode, I’ll hear from a parent about what’s keeping them up at night and together, we’ll unlock how they are already equipped to face and manage it. Raising Parents with Emily Oster
    The Free Press
Poseidon is the god of the sea, Dionysus of wine and merrymaking, and Emily Oster? She’s the god of parenting.  An economics professor at Brown University, Oster has built a massive and loyal audience by providing overwhelmed parents with the information and data they need to make solid and sound parenting decisions in a very confusing world. Her first book, Expecting Better: Why the Conventional Pregnancy Wisdom Is Wrong—and What You Really Need to Know, sold over a million copies and was translated into 19 languages, unseating the classic What to Expect When You’re Expecting as a fixture on many pregnant mothers’ bedtime tables.  In this new series with The Free Press, Oster tackles the deep, difficult, existential, and often controversial questions facing parents today: Are we too soft on kids these days? How do I raise an independent child in an era of overprotection and helicopter parenting? Why are so many teen girls unhappy and anxious, and how can we make them happy again? Why are boys being left behind? Are kids overdiagnosed? What to do about the phones!? Is marriage important for raising kids? Should you even have kids at all?  These questions are more urgent than ever. That’s because, by many measures, kids are worse off today than 30 years ago. They are more anxious than ever. They’re more depressed. They have more diagnoses than ever before. They’re more medicated. More kids are being raised without two parents in the home today. Kids’ reading and math scores haven’t recovered since their decline during the Covid pandemic. Childhood obesity has risen to 19.7 percent. Kids spend on average 7.5 hours in front of a screen for entertainment each day, and the average teen spends around 9 hours a day on their phone. What’s going on with kids today? How worried should we be about our kids? And what should we be doing, as parents, to change course, before it’s too late? How do we raise good people—which starts with raising good, informed parents—in this strange, new world?  Over eight episodes, Oster speaks with over 50 of the world’s best parenting experts, journalists, doctors, psychologists, researchers, and more including: Dr. Becky, Jonathan Haidt, Pamela Druckerman, Richard Reeves, Hanna Rosin, Abigail Shrier, Bryan Caplan, Christine Emba, Johann Hari, Sami Timimi, Melissa Kearney, Ross Douthat, and many, many more. Oster brings her trusted voice—with its sobriety, wisdom, and humor—to the most challenging parenting questions of the day.  The best way to support this podcast is to become a Free Press subscriber today at TheFP.com/subscribe
