Rabbi Goldfein, zt”l, was a lifelong Talmid Muvhak of The Rosh Yeshivah HaRav Mordechai Gifter, zt’l. He learned at Telz Cleveland from 1953 to 1962 during which time he also married and continued learning in its Kollel. In 1978, he founded the Yeshivah Gedolah of Johannesburg built on the foundations and principles which he had seen and learned at the Telz Yeshivah in Cleveland. His goal was to model the Yeshivah, as much as possible, after the great Yeshivahs of Lithuania.
