Spinat, Asiakohl und Feldsalat: Der September eignet sich bestens für die Aussaat bestimmter Gemüse- und Salatsorten. Asiasalate zum Beispiel, die wegen der enthaltenen Senföle eine eher pikante Note haben. Selbst kühlere Temperaturen hindern sie nicht daran, schnell zu keimen. Nach drei bis vier Wochen können mit etwas Glück schon die ersten Blätter gezupft werden. Auch für einige Schnittsalate ist jetzt noch Anbauzeit. Beliebte Sorten sind die Salate "Amerikanischer Brauner" und "Australischer Gelber". Werden später nur die äußeren Blätter geerntet und das Herz bleibt unberührt, wächst der Salat immer wieder nach. Feldsalat liefert gerade im Winter wichtige Vitamine. Wer jetzt zum Beispiel die Sorte "Holländischer Breitblättriger" aussät, hat gute Chancen, von Ende Oktober bis in den März hinein leckeren Feldsalat zu ernten. Auch der Helgoländer Wildkohl könnte jetzt noch seinen Platz im Beet finden. Das muss übrigens nicht zwangsläufig das Gemüsebeet sein. Da der Wildkohl von Juni an wunderschöne gelbe Blüten bildet, könnte er auch Staudenbeet stehen.
