Apollo 11 - NASA Recordings - True Audio
    Quiet. Please
NASA audio recordings from Apollo 11 are some of the most important and historic audio recordings ever made. They capture the voices of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins as they made the first-ever landing on the Moon on July 20, 1969.The audio recordings include everything from the astronauts' conversations with Mission Control to their descriptions of the lunar surface and their own feelings about being the first humans to walk on the Moon. They are a fascinating and inspiring record of one of the greatest achievements in human history.NASA has digitized and made available online all of the audio recordings from Apollo 11, except for the onboard audio from the Lunar Module. This audio is available from the NASA Johnson History Office. Here are some of the most famous audio recordings from Apollo 11:
    • "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed." - Neil Armstrong, announcing the landing of the Lunar Module on the Moon.
    • "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." - Neil Armstrong, becoming the first human to walk on the Moon.
    • "Magnificent view." - Buzz Aldrin, describing the view of the Earth from the Moon.
    • "We came in peace for all mankind." - Neil Armstrong, laying a plaque on the Moon.
    • "Here I am looking at the Earth. It's just a little marble in the sky." - Michael Collins, orbiting the Moon in the Command Module.
The audio recordings from Apollo 11 are a precious record of a historic event. They allow us to relive the excitement and wonder of the first Moon landing through the voices of the astronauts who made it happen.
