The Patriarchy will not like this one. Welcome to the BAD girl episode! Here we get tangible and granular with how we can all tap into our own 'bad girl' selves and truly live from a place of intuition and power. We also touch on how cool climate regions differ from warm climate regions and how sugar and acid levels are directly related to the style of wine in the glass. As always, check out our fabulous wine clubs at ZenWineClub.com. Cheers!

Welcome back! First episode in a while and it's a doozy. This is Kate's birth story and I am so delighted to share a wine club wine while we dive into the complex, hard and nuanced story of my second daughter's birth. Enjoy and be sure to check out our wine club, zenwineclub.com.
Hello my friends! Today's wine is the magical Don Leo 2019 Cabernet Shiraz blend from the legend himself, Francisco Rodriguez Gonzalez! He is the best enologist in Mexico and he was kind enough to share 3 bottles of wine with me. It was a pleasure being part of the Mexico International Wine Competition and I am blown away at the quality, expressiveness and umami character of this wine. Also, take part in a small meditation to land in our bodies and use our breath as a vessel of hope, to move forward with strength, grace and solidarity.
They're Back! Trade shows, wine competitions and the booze-soaked industry that gets to pour once again. I share my personal experiences as a wine judge, trade professional and a human being that strives for balance and wellness. I believe that it can be a tough landscape for wellness to thrive in the wine industry but there is a discipline and confidence that comes from choosing to remain true to ourselves. I hope you enjoy! Cheers!
Today's episode is a boozy doozy. I take you through the history, culture and styles of Sherry wines and what makes them so unique. Understand the winemaking process of these fascinating wines, the history and how they have been able to rejuvenate the category among drinkers of all ages. It wouldn't be wellness if we didn't go into the shadows of our grief and discussing why it's so important to feel these feelings and come back stronger, resilient and ready to take action.
Today's episode is about the misfits- the rebels-the people that don't fit in the patriarchy box! Hell yes to Forlorn Hope and their mission of growing underdog varietals and making misfit wines from their glorious site in Calaveras County in the Sierra Foothills. Limestone soils and 2000 meters bring a natural acidity, brilliant aromatics and an off-the-beaten-path attitude. If you like mainstream wines, chances are these aren't for you! Join me in not fitting in to what the world wants you to be- and rejoice in our special true nature. Cheers and fight on!
It's time to leave self-doubt in the past, my friends! Let me give you a warm welcome back to the Wine with Kat Podcast. This episode is about Crazy Mary and rising above our fears to live the life of service and purpose. Cheers!
My loves, this is a tasty episode! Today we are discussing the Science of Sensory and why it is so important to have a mindful approach when it comes to wine tasting. I truly believe that everyone can be their own expert wine taster! 'How to Taste like a Somm' is budding into a 2-hour class that will be taught for the first time in April and I share an overview of how the class will be structured. No wine today, just coffee for this bleeding heart because this budding entrepreneur is working hard and shedding stale, limiting beliefs to in turn become better at the job but also better at life. Wine and wellness can truly go hand in hand.
Lingua Franca is the universal language that connects us all. It is from the Jory soils of Eola-Amity and the 66-acre Larry Stone vineyards in the gorgeous Willamette Valley. This Estate Chardonnay 2018 has Asian pear, night blooming jasmine, tangerine skins and oyster shells that bring brilliance, finesse and decadence to the table. Larry Stone is one hell of a guy, and he and his Burgundian team has created the most dynamic wines in Oregon. Today's zen is maybe not so zen because we have to honor the humility of owning our triggers and reactions. In this episode we feel the anguish that is human suffering. Their problem is our problem. We feel and breathe together because it's an extraordinary time to be alive. If we have the luxury of wine then we have the necessary path to keep showing up in love, joy and our best selves. One moment at a time.
Today's episode is possibly a tad lighter than the rest! Fun, everyday French Malbec and the family business reminds us to live free from fear by living our true nature and knowing that we are infinite. Chateau les Croisille Silice 2019 is a rustic, coffee driven, tart cherry kind of wine with cloves and great acidity to boot. From Iron rich and sandy clay the wine was brought up in 6 months tank and 6 months in oak barrel. Kat discusses the ways we live free from fear- it starts with accepting and loving this messy life!! Cheers to you and the beautiful being you are. Cheers!
