Take a journey with Dean Harrison's - Australian Yowie Research (est.1997), while we interview hundreds of real Yowie witnesses from all around Australia. Many of these first hand accounts are stunning, eye opening and frightening. Most of the witnesses, never view the Australian bush the same way ever again. Its a life changing experience.
From the time of the first fleet in the late 1700's, the first settlers were told by the Aboriginals of the Hairyman of the bush, which they had many names for in different dialects. Today, it's commonly referred to as the Yowie.
The Yowie (or Australian Bigfoot) is a relic hominid supposed to have been extinct up to 100,000 years ago - however, still consistently reported all over the World.

Quite often we hear from people who are fortunate (or not), to have more than one sighting, and in different locations.
Our Greek witness had never known of Yowies prior to her experiences. The initial sighting was at Curra, Queensland. At first, she believed what she was seeing was a monkey.
The actions of this particular Yowie towards the witness, are intriguing and not common.
The second occurred between Mansfield and Benalla in Victoria 4 years later. This sighting was more typical.
Also in this video, is a segue to an incident during Military Training at Tin Can Bay in 1992.

Did Gigantopithecus make it to the shores of Australia?
Quite possibly. Why... ? Evidence shows them on our door step.... but there was nobody here 7,000+ years ago to witness the Wallace Line...... only arm chair researchers are vocal enough to state claims....

A remote rural town surrounded with mountainous peaks and valley’s is no stranger to sightings of rare anomalies.
The Yowie is of course one creature of habit living in locations, with terrain often hostile to man.
As stated in the initial narration, you may live your entire life out there never discovered, if that is your choice.
That said – mistakes are made.
* Side note: This Witness has now moved away from this town.

A young man searching for stray golf balls at his local Golf Club, ventured into the forest early one morning, after seeing what looked to be a trail of balls placed along a dirt track leading further into the bush.
He followed the trail, collecting the balls one by one as he went.
What he found at the end of the trail wasn't something he expected.

This is our second Witness Audio Report from Mandalong, in New South Wales. Both Reports involved the Witness riding a Dirt Bike.
This was a close quarters encounter, and quite a stand out sighting.
As you will hear in the opening narrative, when we seldom hear of a particular attribute in a report, but often enough to take notice of - it suddenly becomes even more fascinating.
Thank you to our Witness for stepping forward and sharing his experience.

Along the same stretch of road as the previous witnesses, Rob and Glenn, while riding his bike to work in the morning darkness, Shannon rounded a corner to find a juvenile Yowie squatting in the middle of the road.
Just with Glenn's description of emotions, this performed a physical brace for impact, turning it’s head away and putting its hand up towards the bike, in defense.

This encounter, which occurred on the 13th of November 2018, is what we regard as the best of the year.
The event happened at 10 minutes past 10am in the morning while driving west along Beechmont Road, after delivering a truck load of supplies to a property on top of the mountain.
As the Glenn, our Witness, rounds a tight right hand bend coming down the through the hills in his 9 ton empty tipper, he views what at first he believes to be a rock falling from the right high ledge onto the road.
In attempt to avoid the rock, the brakes are applied which resulted in a full lockup, and the truck came to a skidding halt.
Then the rock stood up on two feet.

[ This is an extended version of the episode we have on our Youtube channel ]
As our witness Rob, came around a steep bend in the road - out stepped a large Yowie from right to left and crossed the road in front of his truck.
Rob holds trophies as an Australian Champion Bodybuilder, yet he says the body mass of this being, dwarfed him.
Rob adds, THIS was definitely no soldier is a ghillie suit. It was nearly 10ft tall.

Two brothers were trail bike riding when they rode into a tip (refuse station) and saw something odd in the rubbish pit rummaging and assumedly, looking for food.
It is described to be only 5ft tall, appeared to be approximately 80 years old, not of good health, mono brow, scabby and spotty skin, covered in two to three inch orange and grey hair over the body and longer on the head and face, strong and thick legs-thighs-ankles yet skinny and sickly from the waist up with bones protruding.
Although the appearance was described as “something very old and on its death bed”, when it ran, the speed and agility was unmatched and that of no Human.

While living with her mother on a banana plantation north of Coff's Harbour, Cherie was allowed to wander the property alone while her mother worked.
And according to Cherie, she made a friend.......
This report dances along the line of Paranormal and is a truly fascinating childhood recollection.

One of the oldest historical Yowie Witnesses interviews we recorded first hand was Melba Cullen, who had her sighting at Crescent Head NSW, aged 12 in 1930.
The image was etched into her mind forever.

An unexpected find by a father and son while checking on their favorite fishing location on private property. The position this Yowie was in, is often described as 'Spider-Like', hence our term Spider-Yowie when these sightings arise.
The location is surrounded by previous sightings, so we weren't surprised when we received the Sighting Report.

Being in the outdoors was his passion, and getaway. That came crashing down one day when he hiked down a track in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
He never went hiking again.

The surrounds of the Atherton Tablelands, towards Far Northern Queensland have had an increase of Sighting Reports in the past 5 - 10 years. This particular Report comes from Atherton itself. As a teenager in 1986, our Witness describes the terror as he was stalked and chased from the top of Halloran's Hill Lookout. A memory that still haunts him to this day.

A group of horse riders had a dramatic encounter while riding in the Megalong Valley (Blue Mountains), which left one of them with broken ribs, colour bone, and some very nasty grazing. And perhaps slight little mental scar….

A series of events lead up to the final sighting, where our Witness was left face to face with an 8ft Yowie. The lead up was interesting, but the finale’ intriguing.
Our Witness wanted to share his story with us – he is terminally ill at the time of the interview. He felt some of his experiences may be of use to us, and others, and didn’t want to die with the information he could offer. We thank him for that.
This story has all the common traits of wood knocking, rock throwing and being flanked, but the nature of this particular Yowie is curious.
And what were his motivations to allow himself to be seen, as it was, on two occasions by this Witness?
