God is slow to anger. He gave the Canaanites a time of probation to become acquainted with Him and His character. But when their iniquity was full and His forbearance could no longer be exercised, judgment came. Today, we conclude Week 5 by exploring the balance between God's patience and His justice, His respect for free will, and His ultimate vision of peace. Understanding God as Judge is foundational to the gospel and our salvation.

📖 SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:
• Genesis 15:16 (Iniquity of the Amorites Not Yet Full)
• Patriarchs and Prophets, pp. 491-493 (Ellen G. White on Jericho's Fall)
• The SDA Bible Commentary, vol. 2, p. 1005 (God's Forbearance)
• Romans 2:4 (God's Patience Leads to Repentance)
• 2 Peter 3:9 (God Is Patient, Not Willing Any Should Perish)

🗓️ DAILY DEVOTIONAL SERIES:
Week 5: "God Fights for You"—understanding how God's patience and justice work together in His cosmic conflict against evil.

💭 REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
1. Why is the fact that God is Judge foundational to the gospel and our salvation?
2. How does the case of the Canaanites offer a window into God's patience and justice?
3. Why does God respect our freedom of choice, and how are love and freedom related?
4. What role should Christians play in establishing peace in their environment?

🙏 PRAYER FOCUS:
Lord, help me understand Your patience and justice. Give me wisdom to reflect Your character in how I deal with others, and make me an agent of peace in my world.

🕯️ INSPIRED BY:
"God is slow to anger. He gave the wicked nations a time of probation that they might become acquainted with Him and His character. The punishment was not less because deferred."
—Ellen G. White, The SDA Bible Commentary, vol. 2, p. 1005
