While the Commodore 64 will always be my favorite child, the IBM PC is certainly the hardest working. In this episode I talk about my history with IBM computers, from our first PCjr back in 1984 through the first 386 I purchased in 1994. I also talk about some of my favorite games from that era and that stupid talking parrot program that came with the original Sound Blaster.

It’s been 20 years since I worked for the big yellow tag. In this episode I talk about the game, my first experience with a 720 arcade cabinet, and whether or not I ever ended up getting one! Also, AT&T Natural Voices shut down their free text-to-speech website and so Crystal has been fired and Crystal 2.0 was hired to read the episode number during the intro.

On this episode of You Don’t Know Flack I talk about MAME, the arcade game emulator. I talk about some of the different types of computer and devices I play MAME on (including things like PCs and the Raspberry Pi), some of the different controllers I use, and touch on some of the advantages of playing MAME on a computer over building a MAME cabinet. I think about half of this information has appeared in other episodes of YDKF, but I’ve had MAME on the mind and so this is what came out. The sub-theme of this episode is, “enjoy your hobby the way you want.”
