Significance 研究意義
本研究提出以矽-玻璃製成的 SCALAR ( Silicon Calable ALipid RNP) 微流體晶片，將單一混合單元無縫擴增至 1×、10×、256×，使 mRNA-LNP 產量從 0.1 L /hr 躍升至 17 L /hr，同時保持粒徑 (~70 nm)、封裝效率 (>85 %) 及體內免疫效力一致。
在 COVID-19 疫情中，LNP 配製是疫苗產線瓶頸；該平台證明可在不改變配方參數的情況下，直接由實驗室規模過渡到臨床與商業量產，顯著縮短反應新興病原的時程。
The study introduces a silicon–glass SCALARmicrofluidic platform that parallelizes identical mixing units (1×, 10×, 256×),boosting mRNA-LNP output from 0.1 L /hr to 17 L /hr while preserving particlesize (~70 nm), encapsulation efficiency (>85 %), and in-vivo potency.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, LNPformulation was a production bottleneck; SCALAR enables seamless scale-upwithout re-optimizing formulation parameters, accelerating the response toemerging pathogens.

品質一致性：自動化壓差驅動與階梯-樹枝流道設計確保各通道流阻均一，實驗顯示 90 % 以上混合長度於三種規格晶片皆無顯著差異。
Process robustness: Silicon–glass chipstolerate >1,000 PSI, autoclaving, and surfactant cleaning, overcomingswelling/leaching issues seen with PDMS or COC disposables.
Throughput & economics: A 256× chipyields ~34 k vaccine doses /hr; scaling to 12-inch wafers (>1,000 units)could drop per-chip cost below US $100.
Product consistency: A ladder-plus-brancharchitecture equalizes flow resistance; fluorescence-dye studies show identical90 % mixing lengths across 1×, 10×, and 256× chips.
