In which X7 discusses the comic book that blew his nearly eleven year-old mind back in early 1976, Superman vs. Spider-Man! Nothing like this had ever been done before, and since it is the first one, it is arguably the best one! Watch it all for all the great insights and witty intersections! Let's roll!
In which X7 reviews the Man of Steel's first theatrical movie, Superman meets the Mole Men (1951)! It was a test for the syndicated series later on, and boy did it work. It is quite good as well, though a bit skimpy on super-action. Up, up, and away!
In which X7 talks too much about this interesting failure of a series. That damn armor has got to go! Be that as it may, the show is not nearly as bad as many fans believe it is. They tried something different, and it didn't work. Not the worst thing to do, and some of these episode foreshadow movies in the MCU later on. Watch and find out which ones!
In which X7 reviews two fun mini-movies from the 70s, Kikaida: Comin' Atcha! and Goranger vs. JAKQ! The Kikaida movie comes from the Generation Kikaida DVD, since it was shown in Hawaii. The two movies do have a connection as well! Switch on! 1-2-3!
In which X7 talks about the almost classic masterpiece The Fearless Hyena (1979). It was Jackie Chan's directorial debut, and while it doesn't take many chances on the plot, he and the cast are great. Find out why this isn't quite the great movie it could be!
In which X7 does a "traditional" 7 song Friday today! Can something less than three years old actually be a tradition? Let us know in the comments! This is a fun set of seven songs though, so listen to them all! Let's get ready to rock and roll!
In which X7 talks about episodes 04 through 06 of the second season of Land of the Lost! Turns out, they are pretty darn great, overall. So far, this season works well. Let's get on the raft!
Who cares?! 600 episodes!
In which X7 reviews two of the earliest comic books he ever owned- Justice League of America #91 and #92! I think this is the only time they did a meeting of the doubles from each team. Hence the reason X7 likes these two issues so much. Plus Robin got a much better costume, at least for an issue. Let's Lambaste, Leaguers!
In which X7 enjoys a viewing of Pee-Wee Herman's Big Adventure. Turns out it is the 40th anniversary of the movie, almost to the day! He has seen it several times, but it holds up rather well. Let's all enjoy it and take a ride into the movie!
In which X7 wants to like an Avengers cartoon that contains three of his favorite characters, 1999's Avengers: United They Stand. Does he like it? Please listen and find out! Let's roll!
In which X7 takes a look at the very first full-length werewolf movie, The Werewolf of London! This was Universal's first attempt at a lycanthrope, but it would be another few years before they had a hit. It is a good movie, but there are reasons we never saw a sequel. Watch it all and find out why!
In which X7 lovingly reviews the great Shaw Brothers movie Marco Polo, AKA The Four Assassins, from 1975. There is really not much more to say about it, since it is just a fun, if very historically inaccurate, movie. Let's roll!
In which X7 is supposed to talk about 1959's Lil Abner, but seems to have been stupified by something. We are checking on him, but he did get the episode finished. It is a really funny movie, and most of the songs are great. It does qualify for the Friday Music theme! Let's roll!
In which X7 watches the first three episodes of the second season of Land of the Lost. It has been almost three decades since he has seen these, so it is like watching them again for the first time! Let's roll!
In which X7 reviews a great new book (for his collection) The Art and Science of the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs! The book is available at your finer book purchasing establishments. Go get it! This is a basic overview, so don't expect anything in-depth. Let's dig in!
In which X7 looks at Tsuburaya's fine effort to rehabilitate Ultraman Taro, i.e. The Ultraman Story! It does an admirable job of that, and also being quite entertaining. There are no human characters in this movie at all, for those people who only want heroes and monsters! Let's roll!
In which X7 reviews the final four episodes of The Adventures of Waldo Kitty, and we bid a... fond farewell to the series. Sorta. These are probably four of the better episodes, since the writers seem to have gotten a better handle on the characters. Apparently it was supposed to run 16 episodes, but NBC only funded these 13. As much as X7 like cats, he is probably gonna wait another 50 years before watching this series again!
In which X7 reviews the best giant bug movie of the 50s, The Black Scorpion! This is mostly due to the wonderful stop-motion animation of Pete Peterson and Willis O'Brien! We also get to cheer some arthropods on when they try to eat Juanito. Alas, they don't succeed. Still a great movie, so let's roll!
In which X7 looks at Jimmy Wang Yu's epic movie, Beach of the War Gods! The scope of this spectacle is hard to believe, and it is a very enjoyable movie. Sure, it is a remake of The Seven Samurai (1954) but it takes on a life of its own as well. Go watch it!
In which X7 looks at a very underrated KISS LP, 1980's Unmasked! It is one of his favorites, and has a lot of great power-pop songs on it. Here are seven cuts! Let's rock and roll!
