And so is the Christian life,
The more attention we get off ourselves the more likely we are to grow, behold, and change.
Or like the author of Hebrews 12 implies, the more we fix our eyes on Jesus, the more we overcome what easily entangles.
No wonder many of our self-improvement projects fall flat, we set up the wrong goals and consequently live inferior lives.
A “pandemic”, a “humbling of a civilization”, “COVID19” what haven’t we called the recent crisis?
Everything pales in light of imminent death, as church locations ceased this Sunday, as supermarket choices dropped, one thing remained—a steadfast hope amidst fear and chaos, a Christian hope.
To abide in Christ is to live out the good news amidst the bad.
But how then do you live as a treasured possession in a pandemic?
Distraction is the new duty, what used to reside inside a thousand minds is now a matter of public consumption.
The digital age is invading how we think of ourselves, God and the world around us.
As fragile identities lurk behind images, tweets and uploads, believers in Christ must ask bolder questions.
Who am I? What do my media habits reveal about my real loves, how is my use of time advancing the gospel? What deserves my utmost attention, what is leisure in an embattled world?
What about “redeeming the time?”
We spend half of our adult lives at work, few things reveal, shape our character (or lack thereof) than the longest hours we give to our daily duties.
How does Christian identity address success and failure, rest, fear of man, laziness and workaholism?
What should our Christian witness look like between 8-5pm?
