The cycle of slipping: a heart to heart

Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Quran, 39:53)

This life is a test, and I know it feels like you’re drowning sometimes, but remember, Allah promised that He is closer to you than your jugular vein (Quran, 50:16). He is not far. He is right here, with you, even in this moment of pain.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un, please make Dua for the brothers/cousins that passed away. May Allah have mercy on Yusuf Attahir Yusuf, Muhammad Attahir Yusuf, Yusuf Tahir Yunus. May Allah make it easy for their families and reunite them in the highest rank of Jannah. Ameen thuma ameen

Choose Silence Over Sin

The recommended du'a to recite when leaving a gathering is: "Kaffaratul Majlis" (the expiation of assembly). It is recited in Arabic as "Subhanak Allāhumma wa bi hamdika, ash-hadu 'an lā ilāha illā Anta, astaghfiruka wa atūbu ilayk". The translation is: "Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You

This du'a is a tradition based on narrations from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), where he would recite it after every gathering or session. It is believed to help expiate any unintentional wrongdoing that might have occurred during the gathering

you don’t have to be perfect to start again

In this episode, I just want to sit with you — heart to heart — and remind you of something you already know deep down: it’s time to choose Allah again.

Not out of guilt. Not because anyone’s watching. But because your heart needs Him.

This isn’t a lecture. It’s a soft reminder, from one sister to another, that we can do better with our deen. That Allah hasn’t closed the door. That no matter how far you feel, you’re always one sincere step away from Him.

So if you’ve been feeling distant, spiritually low, or just… tired of the dunya — this one's for you. Let's get back on track together, inshaAllah. 🤍

Not for Them, for You

It's easy to be kind to those who are kind to us—but what about when they aren't? In this episode of Sarah, we explore the strength it takes to show kindness even when others “don’t deserve it.” Through reflections from the Prophet’s (ﷺ) example, real-life scenarios, and a heart-to-heart reminder about who we’re really doing it for, this episode challenges us to rise above ego and embrace the beauty of mercy, patience, and character. Being kind isn’t about them—it’s about you.

perfectly imperfect

In this episode, we’re talking about being imperfect—and how that’s completely okay. Sometimes we slip, miss a prayer, or just feel off in our deen. But the beauty of Islam is that it’s not about being perfect, it’s about showing up, trying again, and turning back to Allah no matter how many times we fall.

This is a reminder for anyone who feels like they’re not “good enough”—you are. And Allah’s mercy is always greater than our mistakes.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about being perfect—it’s about never giving up.

In this episode, we discuss practical ways to carry the spirit of Ramadan throughout the year—whether it’s through salah, Qur’an, dhikr, or acts of kindness. We reflect on why many of us struggle to stay consistent and how to overcome the post-Ramadan dip in motivation.

Ep 9 Ramadan series: Salah is more than just a routine ft. Aysha

Salah isn’t just about going through the motions—it’s a daily check-in, a reset, and a way to stay grounded. "The first deed for which a person will be called to account on the Day of Judgment will be his Salah. If it is found to be sound, he will be safe and successful; but if it is incomplete, he will be unfortunate and a loser."

(Sunan al-Tirmidhi 413, Sahih according to Al-Albani)

This Hadith highlights the importance of Salah as the foundation of our deeds and a key to success in the Hereafter. It reminds us to prioritize and perfect our prayers.

Ep 7 Ramadan series: From where you are, to where you need to be

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"All the children of Adam are sinners, and the best of sinners are those who repent."

(Jami’ at-Tirmidhi 2499, Sunan Ibn Majah 4251, Musnad Ahmad 13072 – Sahih)

This hadith reminds us that making mistakes is a part of human nature, but what truly matters is turning back to Allah in sincere repentance (tawbah). No matter how many times we fall, Allah’s mercy is always greater, and He loves those who repent.

Ep 6 Ramadan series: What’s Meant for You Will Find You

This episode is really emotional lol but behind the tears and all the emotions, I’m gonna talk about the power of Tawakkul—trusting in Allah’s plan even when life feels uncertain. We all face moments of disappointment, heartbreak, or confusion, but true faith is knowing that Allah’s wisdom is far greater than what we can see. The Prophet ﷺ reminded us:

"Know that what has missed you was never meant to befall you, and what has befallen you was never meant to miss you." (Tirmidhi 2516)

No matter how difficult things may seem, Allah’s plan is always for our ultimate good. As the Prophet ﷺ said:

"Wondrous is the affair of the believer! Indeed, all of his affairs are good… If something good happens to him, he is grateful, and that is good for him. If something bad befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him." (Sahih Muslim 2999)

Ep 5 Ramadan series: Choosing the right company ft Salma

Assalamu alaikum girlies,

in this episode, we dive into the importance of choosing the right company—friends who bring us closer to Allah rather than pulling us away. The Prophet ﷺ said:

"A person is upon the religion of his close friend, so let one of you look at whom he befriends." (Tirmidhi 2378)

We also played a fun yet thought-provoking game of Red Flags & Green Flags in Deen, discussing qualities that indicate a good companion versus ones that should raise concerns. Are we surrounding ourselves with people who remind us of Allah? Or are we holding onto friendships that may be harming our faith?

A special shoutout to our amazing co-host, Salma, for her wisdom, energy, and heartfelt contributions to this conversation. May Allah bless her, grant her success in both worlds, and make her a source of goodness for those around her. Ameen.

Also thank you Salz for editing this podcast even thought you were sick, she’s truly the best.

Tune in for an insightful and engaging discussion—you don’t want to miss this one!
