The "Tale of the Doomed Prince" is an ancient Egyptian story, dating to the 18th Dynasty, written in hieratic text, which survived partially on the verso of Papyrus Harris 500 currently housed in the British Museum. The papyrus was burned in an explosion; because of this damage the conclusion of the story is missing. Some scholars speculate that the missing ending was mostly likely a happy one and that the tale could be more aptly named "The Prince who was Threatened by Three Fates" or the like. "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" (Arabic: علي بابا والأربعون لصا) is a folk tale added to the One Thousand and One Nights in the 18th century by its French translator Antoine Galland, who heard it from Syrian storyteller Hanna Diyab. As one of the most popular Arabian Nights tales, it has been widely retold and performed in many media across the world, especially for children (for whom the more violent aspects of the story are often suppressed). In the original version, Ali Baba (Arabic: علي بابا ʿAlī Bābā) is a poor woodcutter and an honest person who discovers the secret of a thieves' den, and enters with the magic phrase "open sesame". The thieves try to kill Ali Baba, but Ali Baba's faithful slave-girl foils their plots. Ali Baba's son marries her and Ali Baba keeps the secret of the treasure. Japanese Folklore. Yamato Takeru  (ヤマトタケルノミコト, Yamato Takeru no Mikoto), originally Prince Ousu(小碓命, Ousu no Mikoto), was a Japanese semi-legendary prince of the  Yamato dynasty , son of  Emperor Keikō, who is traditionally counted as the 12th Emperor of Japan . His name written in  kanji can vary, in the  Nihon Shoki  it is spelled 日本武尊 and in the  Kojiki it is 倭建命. He was also the predecessor of  Takeda ryu.
