When Scary Met Stabby
Death Becomes Her (1992) (Featuring Hayleigh Kurland and Danielle Brown)
As we crawl across the finish line of Schlocktobermess, Christopher and Scott are joined by Danielle Brown and Hayleigh Kurland to discuss 1992's delightfully gross romp "Death Becomes Her". Discussions are had about more juvenile employees in the work force, why Bruce Willis was uniquely perfect for this role, and some likes it hot. Scott then regales all with a story of a haunted hotel in Los Angeles (not that one) (no, not that one, either).

When Scary Met Stabby
The Frighteners (1996) (Featuring Jonathan Kesselman)
Schlocktobermess rolls along as Christopher and Scott are once again joined by friend of the pod Jonathan Kesselman (Jimmy Vestvood: Amerikan Hero, The Hebrew Hammer) to discuss 1996's uneven but fun horror comedy romp The Frighteners. Christopher gets distracted with his true crime interest and the parallels between this film and a real life killer, Scott gives Clint Howard his knightly due, and Jonathan tries to convince them both to visit an allegedly haunted house in Central Massachusetts. All in all, another typical episode around these parts.

The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) (Featuring the Weirdo Wednesday Podcast hosts)

Come to hear us talk about a really fun horror comedy that's as fun to look at as it is to watch, and stay to hear us discuss such topics as new band names, the badassery that is Vulnavia, and perhaps maybe we even discover just who was phone!

In the Massachusetts area? Check out Weirdo Wednesday every week at Cinema Salem at 7:30pm!

Additionally, check listings for Freakout Fridays at the Owl Theater in Lowell!

Re-Animator (1985) (Featuring Allison White and Jarrod Staples)
Schlocktoberfest rolls along as Christopher and Scott are joined by Allison White (Garbage Day Horror) and Jarrod Staples (World of Commotion) to discuss 1985's "Lovecraft-based" "classic", Re-Animator. Come for the schlock, and stay for the talk of refrigerator pigs, what lobotomies actually do (hint: it's mind control), and perhaps the youngest KFC/Taco Bell employee on the eastern seaboard.

The Monkey (2025) (Featuring Jon Reilly)
We're back in action for our fifth season, subtitled Schlocktoberfest. Each week we'll report on the blood splattering and the guts spilling, beginning with this year's own "The Monkey". Written and directed by Oz Perkins and released after his (inexplicable to us) victory lap after the strange amount of acclaim achieved by "Longlegs", "The Monkey" regardless cements his reputation as a horror creator who can make bank. We're joined by Jon Reilly of Life's But a Song podcast as we parse this aggressive horror comedy and discuss the weirdoes of Maine and customer service at Friendly's restaurants.

Silence of the Lambs (1991)
As we wrap up our Killer Month, Scott and Christopher discuss The Silence of the Lambs with returning guest Hayleigh Kurland. Amongst the discussion some hard hitting topics come about, such as the hygiene process of an imprisoned Hannibal Lecter, sneaking one's way into employment at Quantico (please do not do this), and Something of a Ghostly Nature™. Thanks for coming with us on another ride around the horror circuit and we'll see you next year for [THEME REDACTED]!!

When Scary Met Stabby
Se7en (1995)
This is a bit of a chaotic episode as Christopher missed the memo on the recording time, and was late to the party and not prepared with notes. Scott heroically rose to the challenge and led the charge and guided his tardy co-host as well as returning guest Jonathan Kesselman (Jimmy Vestvood: Amerikan Hero, The Hebrew Hammer) through a discussion of 1995's classic, Se7en. Also on the table were talks about the gritty life of a grocery store detective, Gwyneth Paltrow's involvement in a "Dungeons & Dragons is going to kill you" TV movie, and Jonathan even invited a fourth guest: ChatGPT. Strap in.

'Ernest Hemingway once wrote, “The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.” I agree with the second part.'

The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976)
Continuing on with It's a Killer Month™, Christopher and Scott welcome Allison White (@allisonwhtartist and @garbagedayhorror) to discuss the 1976 film The Town that Dreaded Sundown. A more fitting name, perhaps, would be The Town that Dreaded Interesting Films, or The Town that Begat Officer Spark Plug. Lots of fun is had as we more or less tear this admittedly influential film apart and discuss things like drunk narrators, not understanding when too much comic relief is a bad thing, and mainly Spark Plug. We talk a lot about Spark Plug.

Zodiac (2007)
As A Killer Month continues, the lads discuss 2007's Zodiac with Maggie Noel (Rock Candy podcast). Along the way, Maggie discusses the concept of BP/AP eras of time, Christopher gets grumpy when films present fiction as truth, and Scott may or may not know when Draculas are involved in legally binding documents. In othe words, we're up to our ol' thing again.

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)
It's a Killer Month as we return for season four focused on serial killer films. Christopher wanted to call it Unsub Club but Scott didn't like that. We're again joined by Jim Schultz (https://magicthinkingape.bandcamp.com/) to discuss 2006's somewhat genre bending "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon", as well as Candid Farts™, Sylvester Stallone's turtles, and Jim's horrifying take on "Pure Imagination". Good times are had by all!

Don't Look Now (1973)
For the final episode of Season Three, Christopher and Scott are joined by their spouses, Danielle and Hayleigh (respectively) to discuss the glacial slow burn that is Don't Look Now. While discussing the film, everyone notes Donald Sutherland's performance as a checked out family man, his strong dislike of blind psychics, and his fondness for working in the nude. And the sex scene. My God, the sex scene! MY EYES

Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)
On this definitely first recording and not second attempt, Christopher and Scott are joined by repeated guest Lilz Martin (Hell is a Musical, Sawtooth) discuss Jim Jarmusch's 2013 vampire slow burn, Only Lovers Left Alive. Topics of discussion include the perfect casting choices for this film as well as the problems of being an immortal party girl. Why are all vampires rich? Because they're given infinite wealth when they're turned, you dummy.

The Shining (1980)
We're back for episode two of the season to gush over 1980's masterpiece The Shining, and we're not alone! Colby Day (Spaceman, In The Blink of an Eye, Happy Vacation) joins in as we nerd out over just how danged good this film is. We discuss the theories (ranging from plausible to full on conspiracy) that surround the film, Jack Torrance's contempt for his family from day one, and why Scott may have been a good Spanky.

The Menu (2022)
Hey li'l stabbers! We're back for our third season in which we're treating ourselves to the world of elevated horror. Beginning with our most recent film to date, 2022's "The Menu", Christopher and Scott are joined by Blake and Jessica of the Nailed podcast to discuss this violent class satire. Along the way we talk about cool deaths, how three of us (theoretically) loved "Renfield", and about just how much of a dick the character Tyler is in this film. Hopefully you'll want a burger as badly as we did at the end of recording.

As we wrap up our season of family-friendly horror films, Christopher and Scott are joined by Bill Oakley (Steamed Hams Society, Mission Hill, The Simpsons) and Matt Keyser (Clamshell Case Files, Blood Brothers) to discuss the 2012 gem that is ParaNorman. We discuss standard voice casting and stunt voice casting, the perks and problems of living in Salem, Massachusetts during Halloween season, and then Scott regales all with a tale of a dog that can see ghosts. The Addams Family Values (1993)
Christopher n' Scott are joined by Danielle Brown this week as they discuss the classic horror comedy The Addams Family Values and talk about why it may be better than the original, how it's the perfect Summer/Halloween/Thanksgiving film, and dark fantasies Scott may or may not harbor over the cake scene. He says not, but Christopher is uncertain. Good times are had by all. Eat me!

Ernest Scared Stupid (1991)
In this episode, Christopher and Scott are joined by Kendra Beltran of the Crushgasm podcast to discuss 1991's family comedy/horror vehicle Ernest Scared Stupid. Talking points include whether Ernest is magical or if he takes several hours to get points across, weird film logic/terrible 90s film parenting, and bad ideas for things to do with milk IRL. Later, Scott tells a story about a haunted doll. Guess which one! Nope, not that one! And not that one either! (Seriously, you're not going to guess this one.)

Always remember: milk eradicates them...and it gets rid of them, too!

Mr. Boogedy (1986)
In this episode, Christopher and Scott are joined by Jonathan Sasor (Melt, Rampikes) to discuss the 1986 television special Mr. Boogedy. Originally a part of the Wonderful World of Disney lineup, this 45 minute feature is a "frightfest" for the whole family. Talking points include John Astin's puzzling willingness to appear in this film, how utterly impossible it would be to live with the protagonists, and just how insane this film suggests a midnight snack could be. Later, Scott shares the folklore of Baba Yaga.

In the first episode of season two, Christopher and Scott are joined by Hayleigh Kurland to discuss the 1985 acid trip for kids that is Return to Oz. Scott has problems with a large child puppet with an adult consciousness calling a human child "Mom", Christopher is obsessed with how a nineteenth century medical quack describes his electroshock machine, and Hayleigh references the greased chutes of H. H. Holmes's infamous castle. Later, Scott found a modern story of La Llarona...at a ski resort?!
