For 40 plus years, Malcolm Jamal Warner gave us art as an actor, a poet, a musician, dancer, rapper and a director.
He WAS the culture. Thank you for your example.
REST IN PEACE, MALCOLM.
WE BYKE!!!!
CLASS OF 1995 song draft! 1995 was an AMAZING year for RNB and we're going to celebrate it with drafting a song per category.
As usual, the hijinx ensue almost immediately and you already know who they're picking on.
SORRY ABOUT THE AUDIO....

This week I have Sherhara Burrell joining us.

What up yall!? There were technical dificulties with the audio for this week's guest, so I'll kick it with you in this 50th episode!
I'm getting into the BLACK MUSIC MONTH and the #MusicSermon IG page that gives a different prompt for every day in June for use to post songs about. It's truly one of my favorite times of the year.
I'm talking about RNB MT. RUSHMORE and my online back and forth with Tank about his egregious Mt. Rushmore. We talk about the Billboard magazine Top 75 RNB artists of all time and how that may spawn another "Best Of" episode for us!!! You know those are my favorite lol
We talk about settling in to "UNC" phase, after partying with some young people. THAT AND MORE, PRESS PLAY!
In part 2 of the Larry Taylor interview, he talks about playing against LEBRON and KOBE, and that Olympic experience. Larry gives a great story about having the ball stolen from him by Kobe and the speed of the game in that moment.
Larry gets into his amazing journey from Division 2, to working a regular job, to a by chance tryout that led to playing ball in Brazil, where he has been for the last 15 years.
Larry also talks about his love for being a DJ and gives me pointers on the craft. Great times catching up!
WE BYKE!!!!! Today we are joined by LARRY TAYLOR, an olympian and professional basketball player from Chicago IL.
Larry talks about marriage, his son and his amazing journey from a Juco in IL, to playing against KOBE BRYANT and LEBRON JAMES on the world's biggest stage at the 2012 Olympics.
Larry and I talk about his love for Chicago, Brazil and Djing and of course his favorite songs, albums and concerts.
Larry and I were college teammates and we hadn't spoken in YEARS. The conversation was so good that we had to make it 2 Parts.

This week I'm joined by past guess Jennifer Edison and newcomer Donald George, and we start from 100 and we vote our way down to 50. A lot of singing (my bad), a lot of foolishness, we're all over the place in this one but hopefully you'll debate right along with us! A LOT OF YOUR FAVORITES AIN'T GONNA MAKE IT!!!!!!

Today I'm joined by IAN VON, a musician, entrepreneur and host of the "CAN WE TALK RnB? Podcast"
As a former member of a group, Ian opened up for acts such as Destiny's Child, Carl Thomas, Joe and he shares an amazing story about what happened when they opened up for New Edition in their hometown of Baton Rouge.
We have one of those robust RNB conversations, starting with the normal five questions, then we tried something new with the Top Five RnB albums that shaped his fandom.
We went through Ian's beginnings as a gospel singer with his family and the transition to RnB music in a group and eventually going solo. I've listened to his music and if you trust my opinion, it's a lot of heat in that catalogue! Go check it out.

NO tour for the BIGGEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME, With Kristen Carter, back for the third time and we dive deep into this story!
We love the Jackson's, and y'all already know I'm team SHAMONE, there's even an unsubstantiated story about my Dad painting their first tour bus in Gary. So when we found out through the documentary that MJ skipped the thriller tour to tour with his brothers on the Victory tour, Kristen Carter and I were dead set on getting to the bottom of it!
First we pick a TOP 6 Jackson 5/Jackson's list then we get into the details of this fascinating history.
PRESS PLAY! Don't forget to like, comment and share an episode that you really enjoyed with someone else!
It's always good to hear the younger perspective/point of view. I got the chance to talk to Dejon Dishman, a young man from Denver who's trying to blaze a path through the music business here in Los Angeles!
Dejon and I talk about "old rappers" and new music artists, great food spots in LA, him being pressed in LA over a baseball cap in the wrong neighborhood. Hopefully he's finished Breaking Bad and moved into The Wire, by now!
PRESS PLAY and don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT AND SHARE the show with someone you think would like it!

THANKS FOR TUNING IN TO THE 80s POP SONG DRAFT!
TOP 30 POP SONGS FROM THE 80's!!!
Tina Turner, NXS, CINDY LAUPER, WHAM!!!, TAKE ON ME, by A-HA, an argument about whether Bon Jovi is more Rock than Billy Ocean is Pop, we get ALL OF IT...and again, of course, they jump me but I think I came out on top this time!
If you've listened to the last 2 episodes with Actor/Writer Khalilah Joi (Grey's Anatomy, Johnson's) and Writer/Director Lyandre Pierre (Third Wheel Material), then you know you're in for laughs and good ol music rabbit holes as we pick our categories and draft songs with hysterical strategies and outcomes!

From being a radio personality in Knoxville and Nashville, to Marketing guru in Los Angeles, Meryl lays it all out this week!
NICOLE MARTIN has just completed 20 years as a teacher! It's been a ride and we learn all about it!
