“I was gym obsessed” How Catherine overcame binge eating and stopped food noise… | Ep 310

Did you know that in Australia, athletes are at a higher risk of developing disordered eating? In fact, research shows that depending on the sport and level of competition, anywhere from 0 to 19% of male athletes, and 6 to 45% of female athletes, may experience disordered eating or an eating disorder. These numbers are not small—and they remind us that behind the strength, discipline, and performance we admire, many athletes are silently struggling.

Do You Need to Stay on GLP-1s Forever? The Truth About Hormones, Weight, and What Happens When You Stop | Ep 305

In this episode, Stephanie breaks down a recent Tik Tok comment:

“It’s a hormone issue - you have to stay on GLP-1s forever.”

With millions of people using medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro, it’s no surprise that many are wondering what really happens when you come off. You’ll learn:

How GLP-1s work in the body and brain

What clinical studies show about weight regain after stopping

Why “hormones only” is an oversimplification

How to manage appetite, mood, and mindset when coming off

Evidence-based strategies to support your mental health and eating patterns post-GLP-1

If you’re on a GLP-1, considering one, or transitioning off and struggling with hunger or emotional eating - this episode will help you understand your body and brain without guilt or fear.

1. Why labelling yourself as having a “problem” like sugar addiction often distracts from the basics you’re missing.

2. How obsessing over your body can actually block you from connection, opportunity, and action.

What's Eating You Podcast with Clinical Psychologist Stephanie Georgiou
“If my child has Conduct Disorder, does that mean they’ll become a psychopath or a serial killer?” | Ep 291

Today we’re diving into a topic that’s often misunderstood, stigmatised, or swept under the rug: “Conduct Disorder”.

You might have seen it portrayed in movies as the “bad kid” diagnosis. But there’s so much more to it. We’ll break down what Conduct Disorder actually is, how it differs from typical childhood behaviour problems, whether it’s genetic, and one question I hear all the time from concerned parents:

“Does this mean my child will grow up to be a psychopath?”

We’ll also talk about the best evidence-based strategies for treatment and why “early intervention is everything”.

@01:30 What is Conduct Disorder?

@06:00 Is Conduct Disorder Genetic?

@09:00 Will My Child Turn Into a Psychopath?

@13:00 How is Conduct Disorder Different from Other Conditions?

@15:00 How Do You Treat Conduct Disorder?

@19:00 Final Thoughts & Wellbeing Tip
