Episode 173- Sleeping Beauty

Welcome to What The Heck season 4! This podcast explores unexplained phenomena using stories gathered from various sources, then applies an academic research method to find theories and solutions for each one. So far, we've been unsuccessful in finding any concrete answers, but a few of the stories we've covered have been solved. Today, we're looking at the Sleeping Girl of Turville. In 1871, Ellen Sadler suffered a terrible seizure, curled up in a ball, and fell asleep. The local doctor rushed in from a town nearby to find out what was wrong, but couldn't wake her. IUnder her mother's care, Eleen became a tourist attraction and the subject of confusion and scepticism from doctors. Over 9 years later, at the end of 1880, Ellen woke up and went on to live a normal life. What mhappened to Ellen Sadler? How was she kept alive while she slept? Whoat could have been the cause of this? Listen in to find out!
