E6. Meso Mary Gorety: A Rising Star in Youth Advocacy. (IWD Special)
Hey Friendđ. It's great to be here with you once again.
In this episode, I welcome Meso Mary Gorety, to chat about her experience supporting girls and young women facing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Meso discusses her work with various organizations, including Pamoja CBO and the She Leads project by Plan International, aiming to provide education on menstrual hygiene, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health. She shares her personal motivation stemming from her sister's traumatic experience with SGBV, highlighting the pivotal role of educating and empowering young girls in the community. We also talk about the cultural norms and stigmas that exacerbate the challenges faced by survivors and emphasizes the importance of more inclusive and supportive environments for young people. What an honor!
The Wellness Junction Podcast is a production of â â â Pamoja CBOâ â â with support from â â â Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Lawâ â â
