Episode 15: Is that the best we can do?!
You’re doing the best that you can.
You need to know this because you are likely the hardest person on you.
I want you to repeat it to yourself, see if you believe it.
If you don’t, try I’m considering the possibility that I’m doing the best that I can.
If that is too hard to believe then try, It’s possible that people are doing the best that they can.
You need to do this because the atmosphere in your brain matters.
You matter.
How you feel about you matters.
Self imposed stress is unnecessarily hard on you - and there are enough challenges.
Okay, so here it is one more time. You are doing the best that you can.
How do we know? Because it’s what you are doing.
Really try it on, for the rest of today, or the rest of this week - consider the possibility that it’s true.
I’m doing the best that I can. You’re doing the best that you can. That person who cut you off in traffic is doing the best that they can.
Then tell me this - does the world feel better or worse when you believe that?
