Jesus’ Sudden Return: This part highlights that the day of the Lord will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night, and people will not escape the sudden destruction .
Children of the Light: Believers are described as children of the light and day, who should stay awake and sober, putting on faith, love, and the hope of salvation .

Sunday School Lesson August 3, 2025.
Paul’s message to the Thessalonians is about living out faith with sincerity, integrity, and a heart fully devoted to God.
---
🔹 Part 1: Live to Please God
- Obedience is key: The Thessalonians were doing well spiritually; Paul encouraged them to go deeper and continue living in ways that honor God (1 Thess. 4:1–2).
- Choose God’s best: Followers of Christ should be kind, prayerful, thankful, spiritually discerning, and reject evil rather than repay it (1 Thess. 5:15–22).
---
🔹 Part 2: Abstain from Sin
- Live in purity: Sexual immorality is to be avoided; believers are to honor God through self-control and sanctification (1 Thess. 4:3–6).
- God calls us to holiness: These are divine instructions—not cultural norms. Rejecting them is rejecting God’s will (1 Thess. 4:7–8).
---
🔹 Part 3: Lovingly Influence Others
- Make love a priority: Love for fellow believers marks true discipleship and should continually grow (1 Thess. 4:9–10).
- Live quietly and work diligently: Christians should lead peaceful, productive lives that earn the respect of others and reflect Christ well (1 Thess. 4:11–12).
