In April of 2011, more than 200 tornadoes occurred in a five southeastern states. The deadliest part of the outbreak was on April 27, when a total of 122 tornadoes resulted in 319 deaths. The event was one of the deadliest since formal record keeping began in 1950.

This monster storm hit all the boxes… tornadoes, tropical storms, blizzards - you name it! This is a doozy. It happened in 1993 when we were young, living in East TN. We remember the huge amounts of snow it dumped on the mountains there.

Chelsea tells her first hand account of the day a tornado struck a little too close to home for us. While the main tornado reported on that day is the one that hit Nashville, little did we know there were actually 13 tornadoes in TN that day, including one called The Forgotten F-5!

On March 18th, 1925 the worst tornado in United States history ripped through Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. It continues to hold records for longest track on the ground, fastest wind speeds and most fatalities of a single tornado.
