Wow. A doozy! I love chatting with these two lovely people. Ethan and Mal Hohn join the pod to chat Peter Jackson's fantasy trilogy. THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THESE MOVIES BEFORE.
Pretty sick. Tune in to one of the most fun episodes we've ever recorded and comment and let us know your thoughts on the New Line Cinema trilogy. Cheers.
Do you know the origin of your last name? If you don't, message @waveframepod on instagram. We'd like to know. Isaac and the local hob gobbler sit down and chat about the excellent documentary on HBO Max about the hilarious Paul Reubens AKA Pee-wee Herman (or is is Pee-wee Herman AKA Paul Reubens? It's Paul Reubens as Pee-wee Herman. Or is it? I don't know. I do know. You'll never know ;))
ANYWAY. We miss you Bryan. Come back to us. Sail over the Atlantic from your trip abroad and bless us with your presence once again.
Thank you for listening.
The Sinners hype is real! Join Tom Cruise (and Hannah, Bryan, Isaac) in their enthusiasm for this great movie.
So many characters and details to unpack all while hearing about Hannah’s love for the outdoors and Bryan’s hate of Reddit even though he relies upon other people using Reddit to give him useful/relevant information. Haha what a silly guy! Listen and share with your friends if that’s something you want to do.
Black Bag is an excellent movie directed by Steven Soderbergh! Definitely seek it out and watch it. But, also come back and listen to this delightful episode where we talk about spy therapy, spring movies, stress cycles, sitting by rivers, Brother Bear, and crying while smelling.
Thanks for listening!
Robbie Williams (not Robin Williams) is a famous pop star from Britain and this biopic about him is a friggen’ blast! Bryan joins Hannah and Isaac as they all navigate a the conversation over the choice to make a CGI Monkey star as the main character instead of an actor. Incredible stuff. Isaac’s wife Anna even makes a sneaky cameo.
Hannah jumps into Paddington 2 and Paddington in Peru big time!! It's a great episode, to be honest. Isaac takes a close look at the story and jokes and fun abound. Please join us!
Surprise episode! Listen to Bryan and Isaac's reactions to Pixar's latest huge success back when it was first released in theaters. This one is extra fun because Bryan is a therapist by trade, so he has some interesting thoughts and insight to add to the conversation. Thanks for listening!
This episode was recorded back in the summer of 2024 and it is now released as a time capsule in celebration of the cinematic year of 2024! Join Bryan and Isaac as they talk about the power of multiple tornadoes and Glen Powell in a white t-shirt out in the rain.
Jim Carrey! Dutch angles! Whobilation!
Join Bryan LUTKE and Isaac (WaveFrame's 79th episode!!) in their discussion of this famed Christmas retelling of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. You're gonna want to listen to this one just for Bryan's impressions and quotes. Also, Isaac has a real drastic change in how he views this movie now vs. how he viewed it years ago. Kinda like the change the Grinch has when his heart grows three sizes! Thanks for listening, as always.
The audio was awful the first time we released an episode on this movie so now we re-recorded the episode! Good thing too, because it's better now with Hannah joining Isaac and Bryan. Enjoy our dizzingly colorful conversation about how and why we love this unique stop-motion feature.
For example, Meryl Streep's line:
"You Really Are Kind Of A Quote-Unquote Fantastic Fox"
It's an emotionally rich animated movie for kids and adults! Move out of the way, Pixar, Dreamworks is here to take your place. Listen to Hannah, Bryan, and Isaac talk about how the movie affected them as they goof and gab. And go see The Wild Robot in theaters or rent it on your TV!
Happy Ten Year Anniversary to Over the Garden Wall! Cartoon Network, along with showrunner and creator Patrick Mchale, crafted a beautiful, hilarious, and timeless show about two brothers who are lost in a fantastical woods. Don't miss this conversation between Kevin (new guest!), Bryan, and Isaac where they dive deep into why this show matters to them.
We're back again! Summer is coming to a close and we have most recently been watching season 2 of the Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power amazon TV show. We have mixed thoughts! Hear our thoughts today as we talk about the Silmarillion, ents, Sauron, Christopher Tolkien, and new mattresses.
Andrew VanDeWalker is an OG Fallout lover and an excellent realtor. Andrew and Isaac have been friends since 5th Grade and Isaac started watching Andrew play Fallout since probably 7th Grade. So, we're pretty much the most qualified experts. Hear about the unique connections to the video game and about that girl's anime Alita: Battle Angel eyes!
Thanks for listening! Great work, Fallout team.
Treasure Planet (2002), directed by the legendary duo of John Musker and Ron Clements (the directors behind Moana, Little Mermaid, Aladdin & more) is a REALLY FRICKEN' GREAT MOVIE. You should watch this movie! Then listen to us talk about the intricacies of the animation and the heart behind this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EA68KUb4e7Q). Certified banger.

David Lynch directs his seminal masterpiece and showcases the world of Arrakis through the eyes of Paul Atreides.
Bryan and Isaac talk about what they're thankful for, perfectionism, idiosyncrasies from the movie, camerawork, LARPing, going goth, bad green screen, bad 80s Dune hair, and releasing a free podcast for some listeners.
Robert Egger's masterpiece. Isaac's favorite movie. Bryan reads the speeches. Nothing better. Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe give CAREER BEST performances. 10/10 film. 2019 was a blessed year in retrospect, wasn't it?
Thanks for listening!
It's A24 week!
Join Bryan and Isaac this episode where they talk about how the director Dean Fleischer Camp was going through a divorce with the main star of this movie, Jenny Slate, as they made the movie together. Jenny Slate has voiced the titular Marcel the Shell for many years now (starting with short films on YouTube) and has gone on to be a successful comedian. This movie is about processing change, facing grief, and moving forward. Bryan and Isaac have great chemistry and this is a great podcast. Just being honest.
Monkey Man is an underdog movie about a man who seeks revenge. Dev Patel hurtles into the directing chair thanks to Jordan Peele's deft hand in scooping this movie up. It's John Wick but dirty and different. Patel's unique vision helps the viewer engage with the soulful main character, "The Kid," and launches us into this bloody, corrupt world.
Byran and Isaac talk for a while on the direction, production, and what they loved about this (if the stories are true) miracle of a directorial debut.

LUKE IS BACK. Need we say more? Isaac and Luke absolutely dive into the lyrics, musicianship, and lore on this album and Sleep Token in general. They haven't missed a beat and the passion for their music is palpable. It's a great episode!
