Hey, Arrow and Olicity fans, remember season 2 episode 13? Where we left on the cliffhanger that was Oliver and Sara hooking up in the Foundry in the present day and it made no frickin sense? Yeah, we do. And now we're gonna talk about it.
That crazy cat-lady Taylor Swift has released yet another album and we have no choice but to listen to it (multiple times) and then get on the podcast and discuss what we think. (Spoiler: we love it, duh)
If you thought the podcast was big news, Taylor and Travis had another one loaded in the chamber and they chose to launch it at us on an unsuspecting Tuesday morning/afternoon. Also: you guys have no idea how difficult it was to coordinate our schedules and wifi to make this podcast. But here it is, the three of us gushing over Taylor Swift's engagement for a solid hour. We have no regrets.
Jen and Calli return this week to get back to the business of actually discussing Arrow, this time diving in to 2x11 and the meat and guts of the Lance Sister drama and the triangle between them and Oliver. Jen, of course, can't resist comparisons to Vampire Diaries and The Summer I Turned Pretty, but that's due in large part to all three being instances of siblings. It's actually a very interesting discussion as we explore the de-deification of Laurel Lance (at least in Oliver's eyes) and the implications on the trajectory of the show as a whole.
Jen and Calli were falling all over themselves to get this episode out to you this week. There is NEW news! The best kind of new news, in fact. The only thing to save us from having to talk about Sara Lance: Taylor Swift. Yes, the Diva in Charge got us all this week with some massive news about a new album and then as if that weren't enough, she talked for two hours about it on her boyfriend's podcast. We are officially deceased. We are former fans. Come, enjoy the ride with us. Stay for when Jen tries (unsuccesfully) to convince Calli to watch The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Not only are we back and talking about the new Superman movie which is so good that we're going "Henry Cavill who??", we also talk about ARROW again, and quick, someone check if there are pigs flying outside! It's a good time, as always.
It's Superman! And a bunch of other topics as we catch up after a little bit of a summer break. Not only do we discuss the new Man of Steel that is *not* Henry Cavill and who may (is) even more delicious, we talk about Jen's journey reading Throne of Glass (she finished another book!) and various pop culture goodies. It's a good time for all.
Jen finally read the first book in the Throne of Glass series and since Maddie was unable to join us, we discuss that, complete with her thoughts on the characters and story so far. She's in for a treat if she can keep going with all the rest of the books!
With friends like these, who needs enemies? Or, as Taylor Swift herself once said, "All of my enemies started out friends." We talk about the juicy revelations in this ongoing court case between Ms Lively and Mr Baldoni and don't really talk about ACOTAR or the Maas-verse at all largely due to Jen and Maddie not doing their reading. Again. *sigh*
Maddie gone for the day so Jen and Calli talk about Throne of Glass (with a little Crescent City from Calli) and catch up on a lot of other things, including what we've been up to and what we've been watching lately. It's nice to be back after a couple weeks off.
Aside from Calli hassling Jen and Maddie about reading their books, Jen has a few things to say about a former (non lead) actress from Arrow and a certain podcast she did. This of course devolves into ranting, which is one of our favorite pastimes. It relieves a lot of stress which is important for overall mental health.
Jen, Maddie and Calli are back and talking about a little bit of everything. The Sarah J Maas-verse? Check. Arrow? Check. Other television that has caught their attention? You betcha. Let's be honest, they're waiting for Maddie to read ACOMAF before talking more about the best book in the ACOTAR series (so far). Speaking of which, Jen and Calli have some strong feelings on Azriel and his prospective romance story.
We've been working hard at getting our fellow podcast-mate Maddie to join us on the ACOTAR train and she's finally read the first book. So we talk about that with her and kind of end up all over the place (I know this is hard to believe).
We're back with another episode talking about the ACOTAR series. If you haven't read A Court of Thorns and Roses and the second book in the series, A Court of Mist and Fury, there are spoilers hence! We tackle the first part of the book today, getting into slow dissolution of Feyre and Tamlin's relationship in the aftermath of Under the Mountain.
Jen and Calli return after an extended (unintentional) hiatus, trying new tech for the podcast and dying to talk about their latest obsession: A Court of Thrones and Roses. Yep, we drank the tea. And we're ready to talk about it. Join us as we dive in to the first book in the series and try (desperately) not to give too many spoilers. It's hard, you guys.
