Republican incumbent Jason Miyares and former Del. Jay Jones (D–Norfolk) clashed Thursday night at the University of Richmond on energy, civil rights, crime, immigration, affordability and the role itself.
It was the first and only public debate between the candidates this cycle, mirroring last week's sole debate between the gubernatorial candidates, Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears and former Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger.
