Voices Everywhere episode 13 "Being a singer songwriter in Texas, KFC, Golden Coral, Texas shootouts, getting hit on at a bait camp and single dad stuff" with Adrian Russell

I discovered Adrian through a mutual friend via Instagram and we connected over the years through music. Kind of crazy the parallel lives we have lived with similarities such as becoming a musician in a small town in Texas, having to switch paths after having a kid and the creative process we both go through as musicians. Thanks for listening. Joe (also my good friend Michelle is helping out with the fact checking on this episode)

Voices Everywhere episode 12 "Gut health, struggles, addiction and HEB snack runs" Cori McCorkle

Cori and I have a long history. We've been friends for over 20 years and did some traveling together way back when. I wanted to do this podcast episode especially because we've been through a lot of the same life struggles and we both came out the other side. This person has accomplished a lot in such a small amount of time and I'm proud of her. Thanks for listening, Joe

Voices Everywhere Episode 11- Jason Carranza
I met Jason a couple of years ago in the Chihuahuan Desert in the American Southwest on a film shoot. Hung out later and realized we lived parallel lives. I'm glad we got to sit down and talk about Juarez, being a artistic creative, fostering dogs, trying to date someone that understands the complexity that is attached to a traveling artist and being brought up in a poor economic social class only to persevere against all odds. Not a Phil Collins spiritual lyric quote. Thanks for listening. Joe

Voices Everywhere episode 10 "Steve Perry, Peepholes, The wine Exorcist, broken hearts and breakfast in your underwear"

I've known Jay Bernal for almost 30 years. We met when we were young kids playing punk rock shows back in the early 90's in Texas. Over the years we've both experienced so many life changes that paralleled each other especially with relationships, alcoholism and sobriety. Jay and I sat down and caught up and shared a few stories. Also this was recorded on Valentines Day which was for me the first time being alone and single. That was a tough one. Thanks for tuning in. Enjoy, Joe

Voices Everywhere Episode 8- Ian MacDougall
I took a much needed break/reset but now I'm back. I had a conversation with Ian MacDougall and we talked about everything from being in bands such as Broken Gold, Band of Horses and Riverboat Gamblers to accidentally seeing a Huey Lewis show in New Orleans and also teaching music at School of Rock Austin in these Covid times. I've known Ian for a little while now and it was cool to catchup and talk about movies, music and also what it's like to be an artist in today's world with the Covid. I think we talked about food and working out or was I dreaming? Anyhow, go check out his music and follow him on social media and tell him I didn't send you. Super stoked and grateful he took the time out to talk. Thanks Ian. Voices Everywhere episode 7- Scott Garred (Artist/Musician Silver Scooter, Super XX Man)
I had a great conversation with Scott Garred recently for the podcast. Scott is known for being in the influential band Silver Scooter that reigned in the mid 90's to early 2000's and also Super XX Man which originally started before Silver Scooter in his hometown of Pullman, Washington.  We talked about skateboarding in the early 90's, playing in Seattle, Wa and what it was like to be in a band in Austin, Texas back before it became the Austin that we know now. Scott also talked about recording with Bob Mould when Bob lived in Austin. Scott is currently residing in the Bay Area and has a new self-released LP coming out this fall.  I don't want to give away too much so take a listen to the conversation. Here are the links to his works below. Voices Everywhere episode 4- Bryan Richie (The Sword, Galactic Protector)
Podcast interview with Bryan Richie of The Sword and Galactic Protector. He talks about what it was like growing up in and around Austin, Texas before it became the Austin, Texas it is today. Bryan also talked about joining The Sword and touring around the world with Metallica. It was pretty cool picking his brain about the process of branching off and doing a solo record under the name Galactic Protector and what inspired him to do so. Good guy, good chat, all around good conversation with Bryan. He's a Texan....that alone speaks for itself. Enjoy.
