An origins film that is neither the origins of its franchise nor a prequel at all. Red Faction: Origins is actually the sequel to Red Faction: Guerilla and follows the son of that game's protagonist. A low budget sci-fi epic made by the SyFy Channel...the odds aren't in this films favour.

A while back, now defunct network Crackle made a Dead Rising movie called "Watchtower." Turns out they also made a sequel and we're watching it today on VGMP! "Dead Rising: Endgame" sees Jesse Metcalfe return along with Dennis Haysbert and a bunch of new characters including an appearance from Billy Zane making another videogame movie appearance! We are now five movies deep in the "Anderson-verse" of Resident Evil movies and Jamie is almost at breaking point as his favourite franchise continues to be butchered on screen. Based on the blockbuster game, A Minecraft Movie was surprisingly a blockbuster hit at the cinemas, relying on the current mantra that all videogame movie should cast Jack Black and embracing the popular memes of the game to create a wave of box office success. Neither Jamie or Rory are Minecraft fans going into this viewing, so is the movie welcoming to new viewers or do you have to already be a fan of the game to appreciate its charms?

This Japanese movie from 1997 is based on the Konami dating sim franchise of the same name. A rare movie in the VGMP pantheon; our first and only episode based on a dating sim. The movie sees a group of teens taking a job at a seaside café during their last summer before university and bonding over the experience.

After 4 long weeks the boys finally wrap up their journey through Phantasy Star Online 2, Jamie is over the moon whilst Rory is more appreciative of the anime's attempts.
