The motorization of gadgets wasn’t possible until every house could reasonably be expected to have power, though it took a while to make sure that power wasn’t more of a hazard than help. This topic is so large that we broke it into two parts; this week we talk about electricity in general, and next week we’ll get into how it relates to sewing machines in particular.
